Palo Alto Networks enhances security with improved Cortex XSIAM.

Palo Alto Networks has announced a series of enhancements for Cortex XSIAM, its artificial intelligence-driven security operations platform. With the goal of unifying and transforming security operations, this platform now integrates custom machine learning (ML) models and allows the use of third-party EDR data, in addition to expanding its cloud detection and response capabilities. The improved version aims to provide companies with a solution that adapts to their security needs with greater flexibility.

## New Features of Cortex XSIAM
– **Integration of Third-Party EDR:**
Customers can import data from their existing EDR solutions without having to replace them immediately. Additionally, migration costs will be credited for two years to facilitate the transition to the integrated XDR capability in Cortex XSIAM, providing increased detection accuracy and efficiency.

– **BYOML Framework:**
The platform now supports custom machine learning models, enabling organizations to deploy their own models for specific security use cases. This helps personalize detection, incident management, and data visualization according to each company’s requirements.

– **Cloud Detection and Response (CDR):**
Comprehensive visibility of assets, incidents, and vulnerabilities in the cloud, along with Prisma Cloud integration, is included. This helps security analysts quickly identify and respond to cloud-based threats, offering a more complete and organized view of risks.

## Key Innovations of CDR in XSIAM
1. **Cloud Command Center:**
Provides a unified view of cloud assets, incidents, and coverage within the platform’s standard user interface.

2. **Integrated Security Agent:**
Combines Prisma Cloud’s vulnerability management with Cortex’s detection capabilities to enhance protection.

3. **Integration with Prisma Cloud:**
Expands incident capabilities with finer classification and easier navigation.

Dave Gruber, Senior Cybersecurity Analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group, noted that “emerging platforms like Cortex XSIAM are helping organizations achieve their consolidation goals.”
