The sectors demanding more specialists in AI are varied and range from the financial industry to cybersecurity, including the health and energy sectors. This growing demand is due to AI’s ability to optimize processes, reduce costs, provide better user experiences, and overall drive innovation and efficiency in various fields. ESSCA, which will be present at the educational fair Aula and Postgraduate Salon (March 6-9, IFEMA Madrid), offers an MSc in Management of AI and Cybersecurity at its campus in Malaga to train future executives in these sectors.
Gartner estimates that AI will create over 500 million jobs by the year 2036. This increase is attributed to the expansion of generative AI in the technology sector primarily, with a notable 80% of tech companies expecting to implement these applications by 2026. The most in-demand profiles will include engineers and technicians in computer vision, among others.
Stéphane Ruiz, director of the ESSCA campus in Malaga explains that, “alongside this significant demand for technical engineering profiles, there is an increasingly growing demand for AI management training for company executives as AI can be applied in all departments of an organization.”
Yann Truong, director of MSc and international programs at ESSCA, adds that “AI not only allows for the automation of many tasks within a company but also improves management and the role of the executive so they can make better decisions.”
However, technology is not the only sector in need of specialized professionals in Artificial Intelligence. According to data collected by ESSCA School of Management, Finance, Health, Cybersecurity, and Energy will be the sectors demanding the most AI knowledge.
**Financial Sector**
ESSCA has identified that the financial industry is widely implementing AI for asset management, algorithmic trading, credit underwriting, product personalization, and cybersecurity. This sector leverages AI to enhance consumer experience, secure transactions, and empower decision-making based on the analysis of large volumes of data.
**Health**
It is widely recognized that the health sector is undergoing significant transformation thanks to AI. From personalized diagnosis and treatment to health data management and biomedical research, AI is enabling significant advances that promise to improve patient care and health outcomes.
**Cybersecurity**
AI can analyze large volumes of data at a speed and accuracy that far exceeds human capacity. This allows for early detection of anomalous patterns or suspicious behavior that could indicate a security threat, such as advanced malware or zero-day attacks that are difficult to detect with traditional methods. Given the exponential growth of data and the constant evolution of cybercriminal tactics, AI specialists are essential to developing cybersecurity systems that not only respond to current threats but also anticipate and adapt to future challenges.
**Energy**
AI offers powerful tools to address some of the most significant challenges in energy management, from network optimization to the integration of renewable sources and the improvement of energy efficiency. The demand for AI specialists in this sector reflects the need to innovate and adapt to an energy landscape that is increasingly complex, competitive, and sustainability-oriented.
Truong adds, “there are other sectors where AI is equally having a significant impact such as accounting, production and logistics, human resources (recruitment), marketing and communication, or smart cities, all areas that will require AI specialists.”
To meet the demand for AI in these sectors, ESSCA School of Management offers the MSc in Management of AI and Cybersecurity at the Malaga campus.
This MSc, lasting between 12 and 18 months, includes a 6-month internship. This program, starting in September 2024, aims to equip graduates with the most advanced skills to harness the power of AI for greater performance in their future managerial roles. The courses offer a unique combination of soft skills and data to thrive successfully in the world of AI.
In the upcoming edition of the educational fair Aula-Postgraduate and Continuing Education (March 6-9, IFEMA Madrid), the Spanish team from ESSCA will showcase more details about this program and all the educational offerings of ESSCA at stands 5A16 and 1D06.
Ruiz explains that “the business ecosystem of Malaga is evolving. It is no longer composed solely of large tech companies seeking technical profiles. These multinational corporations, along with innovative local startups and SMEs, require their executives and business analysts to master AI due to the impact of its widespread deployment in organizations.”
