Vena Group launches a subsidiary dedicated to sustainable digital infrastructure with a portfolio of 3 GW in development.
Vena Group has announced the creation of Vena Nexus, a new subsidiary exclusively focused on the development of data centers designed for artificial intelligence workloads (AI-DC). With this strategic restructuring, all activities, personnel, and ongoing projects of this nature have been transferred from Vena Energy, its renewable energy division, to the new entity.
This decision reinforces Vena Group’s vision of combining high-performance digital infrastructure with sustainable energy projects, integrating hyperscale data center campuses with renewable energy solutions as well as edge facilities in strategic locations within its energy network.
“Given the exponential growth of demand for both traditional and AI workloads in the Asia-Pacific region, Vena Nexus is a natural extension of our platform towards high-performance digital infrastructures,” stated Nitin Apte, CEO of Vena Group.
Green and Intelligent Data Centers
Vena Nexus starts with a pipeline of approximately 3 GW in development, including over 1 GW of AI-DC projects with electricity supply, land, and permits already secured. The company operates with a specialized team of 60 professionals dedicated to the development of digital infrastructure, business strategy, and investment, supported by the broader corporate platform of the group, which totals nearly 1,000 professionals.
Vena Nexus’s value proposition focuses on the integration from the design stage between data centers and renewable energy, positioning itself as a platform capable of scaling infrastructure in markets with energy constraints and high entry barriers such as Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines, with ongoing expansion into Thailand, South Korea, Australia, and other countries in the region.
“Vena Nexus is born to build the next generation of green digital infrastructure, where computing and renewable energy are designed together from the outset,” explained Simone Grasso, CIO of Vena Group and global director of Vena Nexus.
Accelerating Sustainable Digital Transition
The demand for energy-efficient and sustainable data centers continues to grow, both for traditional workloads and AI-intensive processes, such as model training and inference. Vena Nexus is committed to facilities designed to provide real-time processing and low latency, essential for supporting the surge of artificial intelligence in the region.
With this move, Vena Group solidifies its position as a key player in the energy and digital transition for the Asia-Pacific region, aligning technological infrastructure with environmental sustainability to build a low-carbon future ready for the AI revolution.
