Urgent URL update for Horizon services: Action required by August 27, 2024.

With the transition of Broadcom’s End-User Computing (EUC) division to an independent entity, a critical update has been issued for users of Horizon Cloud Service on Microsoft Azure and Horizon 8 Cloud Connected Environments. Moving forward, it is necessary to update the URL endpoints to the new Omnissa endpoints to ensure the continued and secure operation of the service.

Update on URLs: What You Need to Know

The transition involves changes in URL endpoints for both First-Gen and Next-Gen deployments. These changes must be completed by August 27, 2024, to avoid service disruptions.

For First-Gen Deployments:

  • Horizon 8 with Horizon Cloud Connector:
    • Existing Endpoints (VMware):
    • *.horizon.vmware.com
    • *.vmwarehorizon.com
    • New Endpoints (Omnissa):
    • *.horizon.omnissa.com
    • *.omnissahorizon.com
    • Required Permission List:
    • Include both existing and new endpoints in the firewall permission list.

For Next-Gen Deployments:

  • Horizon 8 with Horizon Edge Gateway:
    • Existing Endpoints (VMware):
    • cloud-sg-us-hdc-mqtt.horizon.vmware.com
    • softwareupdate.vmware.com
    • New Endpoints (Omnissa):
    • cloud-sg-us-hdc-mqtt.horizon.omnissa.com
    • softwareupdate.omnissa.com
    • Required Permission List:
    • Include both existing and new endpoints in the firewall permission list.

Next Steps for Users:

  1. Review the URL endpoints based on your deployment type.
  2. Update your network and security settings to reflect these changes.
  3. Ensure the changes are effective before August 27, 2024.

This update is crucial to maintain the integrity and continuity of Horizon Cloud service. Users must make these adjustments in a timely manner to avoid potential service interruptions.
