The Basque Government modernizes its Big Data platform with the collaboration of Ayesa.

The Basque Government’s Information Society (EJIE) has taken a step forward in the evolution of its Big Data platform thanks to the collaboration with Ayesa, a global provider of technology and engineering services. This platform, known as Big Data as a Service (BDaaS), offers government entities advanced services for storing, ingesting, transforming, processing, and analyzing massive or complex data using EJIE infrastructures.

EJIE’s BDaaS platform stands out for being ‘multitenant’, allowing subscribed entities to enjoy a flexible and scalable solution. This means that it can adapt both in the number of services and storage capacity, adjusting to the changing needs of its users. Additionally, the platform is designed to continuously evolve and adapt to the specific requirements of consumers.

Ayesa plays a crucial role in this project, supplying the platform and providing specialized professional services in consulting, design, support, and maintenance. Luis Domínguez, project manager at Ayesa, underscores the importance of identifying and developing use cases within EJIE-dependent organizations. “Our goal is, together with the Basque Government’s Information Society, to promote and support the development of initiatives on the BDaaS platform,” said Domínguez. “To do so, we have carried out training and workshops, providing support and assistance to the various initiatives and organizations, facilitating any necessary actions for the efficient use of the platform.”

The collaboration between Ayesa and EJIE not only focuses on the technical aspect but also ensures that government entities can maximize the potential of the BDaaS platform through effective and sustainable use. This modernization of the Basque Government’s Big Data infrastructure promises to significantly enhance data analysis and processing capabilities, which in turn, will optimize decision-making and operational efficiency in government entities.

The evolution of the BDaaS platform is a clear example of how technology and collaboration can drive innovation and efficiency in the public sector, benefiting all citizens of the Basque Country.

This modernization marks a milestone in the digital infrastructure of the Basque Government, positioning its entities at the forefront of managing massive data. With the support of Ayesa, the Basque Government demonstrates its commitment to innovation and continuous improvement of its services for the well-being of the community.
