Telefónica Tech has announced a global collaboration with Microsoft to strengthen digital security for organizations worldwide. This agreement, signed during the RSA conference in San Francisco, aims to integrate Microsoft’s advanced security solutions and artificial intelligence with Telefónica Tech’s expertise in operational cybersecurity.
Fortifying Digital Defense
The partnership will enable companies to benefit from proactive, integrated, automated, and real-time security management. Telefónica Tech will expand its current portfolio of cybersecurity services, including Detection and Response, Identity Access Management, Cyber Threat Intelligence, and Data Protection. With this collaboration, Microsoft’s cybersecurity capabilities, including the Microsoft Copilot for Security tool, will be integrated, optimizing incident response and enhancing security processes.
24×7 Digital Operations Centers
Protection will be managed from Telefónica Tech’s Digital Operations Centers (DOC) in Madrid and Bogotá, Colombia. These centers have specialized teams operating 24×7, ensuring maximum security. The teams are highly qualified and hold advanced certifications in Microsoft technology.
Leaders’ Statements
María Jesús Almazor, COO of Telefónica Tech for Spain and America, emphasized the importance of this collaboration: “This global cooperation between Microsoft and Telefónica Tech is a key milestone for companies worldwide to harness all the opportunities that technology offers to digitize processes and workplaces, including tools based on generative artificial intelligence, with maximum security.”
Alberto Granados, President of Microsoft Spain, added: “The collaboration between Telefónica Tech and Microsoft will allow us to offer our customers innovative security solutions powered by Artificial Intelligence with the aim of improving their cyber-resilience.”
Recognitions and Specializations
Telefónica Tech, recognized as a managed security services partner (MSSP), ranked second on MSSP Alert’s Top 250 Global MSSP list in 2023. Additionally, it was named Partner of the Year in Spain by Microsoft, reaching the highest level of partnership in all designations, including security and expert provider of managed services on Azure (MSP). In 2024, Telefónica Tech added cloud security and threat protection specializations, increasing its technical capabilities recognized by Microsoft.
Commitment to Responsible AI
This cybersecurity agreement reinforces the long-term collaboration between both companies. In February, Microsoft launched its Responsible AI Innovation Center (RAIIC) in Spain, where Telefónica Tech collaborates with other technology partners. This center promotes the adoption and safe use of artificial intelligence, developing training sessions, innovative use cases, and guidelines for the secure and responsible application of this technology.
With this agreement, Telefónica Tech and Microsoft demonstrate their commitment to digital security and technological innovation, offering robust and advanced solutions to protect organizations against growing cyber threats.
