Telefónica Empresas has taken a significant step in the digitization of workspaces by announcing its collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. This alliance aims to bring the power of the Snapdragon® X Series platform to Spanish companies, facilitating the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enterprise devices.
This new technology comes at a crucial time, as many Spanish companies are upgrading the equipment acquired during the 2020 pandemic. The recommendation is clear: upgrade hardware to enhance security and make the most of new software capabilities, such as generative AI used by advanced tools like Microsoft Copilot+.
The key is in the NPU
One of the standout technical aspects of the Snapdragon X Series processors is their Neuronal Processing Unit (NPU), which enables speeds of up to 40 TOPS (trillions of operations per second). This power is essential for fully integrating AI into the hardware and software of the devices, connecting computers to the cloud and providing a much more efficient and seamless user experience.
Javier Pascual, Director of Product, Pre-sales and Provisioning for Enterprises at Telefónica, explained: “This pioneering collaboration in Spain positions us at the forefront of computing devices and contributes to the adoption of AI by businesses and administrations.”
Meanwhile, Dino Flore, Vice President of Technology at Qualcomm Europe, Inc., added: “With Snapdragon X Series, we are leading the transformation of the PC ecosystem. Its performance and multiple-day battery life are revolutionizing personal computing, and our collaboration with Telefónica underscores our commitment to enhancing productivity in companies.”
A smarter work environment
As part of this collaboration, Telefónica has introduced Smart Workplace, its employee environment management service. This service is based on a modular platform that integrates AI, automation, and advanced security, allowing employees to self-manage everything from their technological needs to device and application maintenance.
This solution promises to enhance user experience through quick and efficient support, all within a unified and omnichannel environment. Additionally, Telefónica not only provides devices equipped with Snapdragon X Series but also offers training, consultancy, and pre-deployment assessment.
A collaboration shaping the future of companies
Telefónica Empresas is currently one of the largest distributors of PCs in the Spanish business sector, having supplied over 100,000 devices to companies and public administrations in 2023 alone. This agreement with Qualcomm reinforces its role as a leader in digitizing the workplace environment in Spain.
With this collaboration, both companies aim to accelerate Spanish companies’ adoption of new technologies, promoting digital transformation and enhancing the productivity and competitiveness of organizations in the global market.
