Supermicro launches high-density and energy-efficient solutions with AMD EPYC™ 4004 processors.

Supermicro, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI), a leading provider of comprehensive IT solutions for AI, cloud, storage, and 5G/Edge, has announced the expansion of its H13 server generation based on AMD. These new additions are optimized to provide an exceptional balance between performance and efficiency, and are powered by AMD EPYC 4004 Series processors. A standout feature is the multi-node MicroCloud solution, which supports up to ten nodes in a 3U form factor, ideal for native cloud workloads.

“Supermicro continues to offer innovative solutions for a wide range of applications. With this new addition based on the AMD EPYC 4004 processor, we can cater to the needs of cloud or on-premises service providers who require a cost-effective solution in a compact format,” said Charles Liang, President and CEO of Supermicro. “In a single rack, 160 individual nodes can be deployed for cloud-native applications, reducing the need for physical space and decreasing the total cost of ownership (TCO) of a data center.”

Innovation and High Density with AMD EPYC 4004 Processors
Supermicro is proud to be one of the first in the market to offer servers with AMD EPYC 4004 processors, which are compatible with a wide range of solutions, from 1U and 2U systems to the new 3U multi-node MicroCloud enclosure. With 10 servers in just 3U of rack space, customers can increase their computing density by over 3.3 times compared to standard 1U rack servers. This 3U server provides unprecedented density and is optimized for power consumption and cooling through Supermicro’s proven modular design, which also supports high-performance peripherals via two additional PCIe 5.0 x8 cards or a full-width x16 GPU. This 3U MicroCloud system offers a space-saving design and low power consumption, ideal for web hosting, cloud gaming, and content delivery networks.

Advantages for SMEs and Service Providers
Supermicro servers, powered by AMD EPYC 4004 processors, provide the ideal server platform for small and medium-sized businesses looking to expand with a compact and powerful design. The AMD EPYC™ 4004 processors extend the highly efficient and high-performance “Zen4” core architecture to a new range of entry-level server designs. Using the proven AM5 socket and featuring 4 to 16 core “Zen4” processors capable of simultaneous multithreading (SMT), these processors provide the necessary performance in cost-effective system designs, allowing deployment with limited IT support in low-density business computing environments such as the medical, retail, telecommunications, and other office configurations.

“Supermicro continues to work closely with AMD to bring the latest processors to customers in a wide range of markets. Our AMD EPYC 4004 Series processors are ideal for Supermicro’s rack-mount servers and the new innovative MicroCloud. Customers can achieve tremendous rack density with the new processors and formats designed by Supermicro for native cloud and expansion environments,” said John Morris, Corporate Vice President of AMD’s Enterprise and HPC Business Group.

Benefits of Supermicro Solutions with AMD EPYC 4004
These solutions are designed to appeal to small and medium-sized businesses, office server customers, and hosted IT service providers. Based on their compelling combination of affordability, performance, and ease of management, AMD EPYC 4004 Series processors are built to deliver solid performance in general-purpose server workloads in a single, streamlined socket package.
