Stoïk Insurtech Appoints Juan Ignacio Ramallo as Country Manager for Spain

Stoïk, the first European insurtech specializing in cyber risk insurance for companies with revenues up to €1 billion, has announced the appointment of Juan Ignacio Ramallo as the new Country Manager in Spain, aiming to drive the company’s growth and establish a stronger presence in the domestic market.

Ramallo joined the firm last year as business development director, playing a key role in both the official launch of Stoïk in Spain, announced in January, and in developing the commercial strategy and building a network of insurance brokers across the country.

In this new phase, Ramallo will be tasked with leading Stoïk’s expansion in Spain, managing the execution of the go-to-market strategy, strengthening and coordinating the local team, and fostering closer collaboration with brokers as well as driving strategic partnerships to facilitate distribution.

With this appointment, Stoïk is reinforcing its growth strategy in Spain and taking another step toward solidifying its position as a leading company in the cyber insurance sector.

Taking on the role of Country Manager at Stoïk Iberia is a great honor and an opportunity to continue advancing a project that’s transforming the cyber insurance market,” states the Stoïk Country Manager in Spain. “During this time, we have built an exceptional team and earned the trust of brokers and strategic partners who share our vision of offering more than just cyber insurance—delivering real value and helping companies become more resilient against digital risks. Our goal now is to keep innovating and expanding our offerings to establish ourselves as the leader in cyber insurance in Spain.”

With a degree in business administration, Ramallo has over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry, specializing in cybersecurity and financial lines. He has worked in underwriting, portfolio management, and business development roles across international markets for companies such as AIG, W.R. Berkley, Willis Towers Watson, and Seguros SURA, where he led the development of Argentina’s first cyber risk insurance. In 2021, he joined RiskPoint Spain as the Liabilities Manager for Iberia, overseeing underwriting of financial and cyber lines, and was later appointed business development director, from which he joined Stoïk.

For Jules Veyrat, CEO and co-founder of Stoïk: The appointment of Juan Ignacio Ramallo reflects our commitment to nurturing internal talent and our core values. With a clear understanding of the insurance market and digital environment, Juan has quickly connected with an ecosystem that demands more innovation, agility, and protection against cyber threats. His experience and leadership make him the ideal person to spearhead our growth ambitions and position Stoïk as the leading cyber insurer in Spain.”
