Snowflake, the leading Data Cloud company, has partnered with Mistral AI, one of the top European providers of artificial intelligence solutions, to offer Snowflake customers in the Data Cloud direct access to Mistral AI’s most powerful language models. This global agreement, which also includes a parallel investment in Mistral AI’s Series A by Snowflake Ventures, aims to equip companies with the tools necessary to leverage large language models (LLMs) to the fullest while maintaining the security, privacy, and governance of their data.
Thanks to the new partnership with Mistral AI, Snowflake customers can access Mistral’s latest and most powerful LLM model, Mistral Large, considered one of the highest-performing models worldwide. Mistral Large stands out for its unique reasoning capabilities, competence in code and mathematics, and fluency in five languages, maintaining Mistral AI’s commitment to the cultural and linguistic specificity of generative AI technology.
Moreover, Snowflake customers will also have access to Mixtral 8x7B, Mistral AI’s open-source model that surpasses OpenAI’s GPT3.5 in speed and quality, as well as Mistral 7B, Mistral AI’s foundational model optimized for low latency, reduced memory requirements, and high processing capacity. Mistral AI’s models are already available to customers in public preview as part of Snowflake Cortex, Snowflake’s fully managed LLM and vector search service that enables organizations to accelerate analysis and build AI applications securely with their enterprise data.
