Snowflake, a leading company in AI Data Cloud, and Anthropic, specialized in artificial intelligence research and safety, have announced a significant expansion of their strategic partnership. The new agreement, valued at $200 million, will enable Anthropic’s Claude models to be available to over 12,600 customers worldwide through the Snowflake platform and across the three major clouds. Additionally, it includes a joint global marketing strategy focused on driving the adoption of AI agents within large corporations. Claude will also become a key model to empower Snowflake Intelligence, the company’s business intelligence agent designed to transform work by providing corporate knowledge through a reliable assistant that fosters curiosity, exploration, and innovation.
This expansion builds upon their previous collaboration, in which thousands of Snowflake customers already process trillions of tokens monthly with Claude via Snowflake Cortex AI. The next phase of cooperation aims to integrate advanced AI agents into Snowflake capable of performing complex, multi-stage analysis. These agents will leverage Claude’s reasoning capabilities and secure handling of sensitive data, enabling comprehension of extensive volumes of financial, operational, and customer data, among others, showcasing the analysis process rather than just the final answer. Combining this reasoning ability with Snowflake’s governed data environment will allow regulated industries—such as finance, healthcare, and life sciences—to move from pilot tests to production environments with full security.
For example, an asset management firm could use Snowflake Intelligence, powered by Claude, to develop an agent that unifies client portfolios, market data, and regulatory requirements, generating personalized investment recommendations within the secure and controlled environment of Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud.
