Siemens Reinforces Arm Neoverse Verification with Veloce CS at SEMICON Taiwan 2025

Within the framework of SEMICON Taiwan 2025, Siemens Digital Industries Software announced a key step in its collaboration with ARM: the integration of its Veloce CS platform into the design and verification flow of Arm® Neoverse™ (CSS) subsystems.

With this decision, Siemens strengthens a long-standing strategic relationship with Arm, offering solutions that combine high-performance simulation and rapid prototyping—two increasingly critical pillars in the development of architectures for data centers, artificial intelligence, and cloud applications.

Veloce Strato CS and proFPGA CS: performance and scalability

Siemens’ proposal relies on two complementary technological components:

  • Veloce Strato CS, which provides high-performance hardware emulation capabilities and scalability from 40 million to 40 billion logic gates. Its modular blade-type design addresses the needs of modern data centers: easy installation, low energy consumption, efficient cooling, and compact packaging.
  • Veloce proFPGA CS, based on the AMD VP1902 adaptive SoC, enabling rapid and flexible prototyping. This platform can scale from a single FPGA to hundreds, accelerating critical tasks such as firmware development, operating systems, applications, and full-system integration. It even offers a portable desktop version for laboratories.

According to Jean-Marie Brunet, Vice President and General Manager of Siemens’ hardware-assisted verification division, “Integrating Veloce CS into Arm flows allows us to offer a proven and scalable environment that addresses the challenges faced by hardware, software, and system engineers alike.”.

Complete verification with PCD and protocol analysis

A key innovation of Veloce Strato CS is its PCIe Composite Device (PCD) technology, designed to validate the integration of customer IPs within Arm CSS subsystems. This solution combines elements such as the Arm Conformance Package (ACS), PCIe, and NVMe in a unified debugging environment, all enhanced by the Veloce Protocol Analyzer, which provides complete system visibility.

This enables developers and system manufacturers to identify errors, bottlenecks, or incompatibilitiesearly in development, reducing time-to-market and validation costs.

SEMICON Taiwan as a global showcase

At the Taipei fair, Siemens showcased its Veloce proFPGA CS along with other solutions from its EDA (Electronic Design Automation) portfolio, part of the Siemens Xcelerator platform, at its booth in Hall 2, 1F #P576.

The event takes place in a context where electronic design automation is evolving towards software-defined tools, powered by AI, and optimized for cloud architectures. With over a decade of experience applying AI in EDA, Siemens emphasizes that its solutions are “production-proven”, tested in real-world production environments across hundreds of customer designs.

Implications for the semiconductor industry

The integration of Veloce CS with Arm Neoverse represents more than just a technological alliance—it’s a response to the increasing complexity of chips powering generative AI, supercomputers, and the cloud.

Massive emulation and rapid prototyping enable companies to anticipate issues, validate interoperability, and optimize energy consumption before manufacturing. In a market where every nanosecond counts and errors can cost millions, these solutions become a decisive competitive factor.
