RTVE incorporates an Artificial Intelligence platform called IVERES “Identification, Verification, and Response” managed by Eviden, a company within the Atos group and a leader in Artificial Intelligence, to detect fake information by verifying the authenticity of audios, images, and texts. With its advanced natural language processing technology and flexibility to adapt to different contexts, IVERES becomes a powerful ally in protecting the integrity of information in the media.
The project, led by RTVE and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation as part of the state R&D program, brings together researchers from the Carlos III University of Madrid, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, the University of Granada, and RTVE.
Eviden has employed the latest available technologies to develop the IVERES platform within the project. The solution’s design includes the necessary components to provide RTVE with the flexibility and scalability required (computing, networking, storage, security, and encryption) to support the project. To achieve this goal, the AWS Cloud solution was chosen, located in the data processing center in Spain, with access to some GCPU resources and ML/AI services available in AWS Ireland.
IVERES solution by RTVE uses advanced algorithms of natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning to analyze news content and evaluate its truthfulness. AWS platform provides the possibility to enhance its accuracy using ML tools.
The architecture of IVERES is designed to process large volumes of data in real-time. By implementing it on the AWS cloud platform, the distributed infrastructure and scalability can be leveraged through the EC2-based computing service and AWS storage to carry out news analysis at great speed and scalability. This ensures a quick response to the spread of fake content and minimizes the risk of misleading information spreading rapidly.
The IVERES solution adapts to different news contexts and themes. Its flexibility allows for customization and refinement of detection models to meet RTVE’s specific needs. AWS cloud infrastructure enables adjustment of processing, storage, and connectivity resources according to demand, ensuring optimal resource management and seamless scalability.
The implementation of IVERES on the AWS cloud platform integrates with RTVE’s existing infrastructure. This ensures a smooth transition and leverages the investment in technology already made. It also facilitates interaction with other tools and systems used by RTVE, improving operational efficiency and user experience.
