Riverbed launches the most advanced AI-powered platform to optimize digital experiences.

Riverbed, a leader in AI Observability, has launched its most advanced AI-driven observability platform to date, aimed at optimizing digital experiences. This new platform, along with several innovative solutions and a unified agent, is built on an open architecture and expands its already extensive collection of high-fidelity data across the IT environment.

Riverbed’s new observability capabilities allow IT departments to overcome visibility blind spots in environments such as public cloud, Zero Trust, SD-WAN, and remote work environments. These enhancements ensure that IT teams can manage and optimize their systems with greater efficiency and accuracy.

One of the highlighted new features is Aternity Mobile, which enables the IT department to monitor the performance of company-owned Apple iOS and Android mobile devices. This tool helps proactively identify digital experience issues, allowing for specific actions to improve frontline employee productivity.

In addition, Riverbed has launched the new generation of Riverbed IQ 2.0, an AIOps service designed to reduce alert fatigue and enable IT teams to identify and resolve issues more quickly. This service uses AI-driven correlation and automation of data from both Riverbed and third parties, facilitating more efficient and effective management.

In the current context, IT teams face the challenging task of delivering high-quality digital experiences while managing complex IT environments and large amounts of data and alerts. The lack of sufficient context and actionable information, coupled with network blind spots and a shortage of qualified IT resources, poses a significant challenge. The ability to collect and analyze all this data and leverage AI and automation is crucial to meet the needs of modern IT operations.

Riverbed’s AI-powered platform collects data across the technology stack to ensure accurate AI results, reducing the time and costs of IT issue resolution. This translates into better digital experiences for end-users, as solutions can be deployed more quickly and effectively.

With these innovations, Riverbed reaffirms its commitment to leading the field of AI-driven observability, providing tools and solutions that not only enhance visibility and control of IT environments but also optimize users’ digital experience.

“Customers are facing the challenge of improving the digital experience, simplifying their management environment, and implementing scalable AI,” commented Dave Donatelli, CEO of Riverbed. “To address this, Riverbed has invested in our core competencies of data collection and AI, and today we are launching the most advanced AI-driven observability platform to optimize digital experiences, along with solutions that provide new levels of visibility into network blind spots and company-owned mobile devices. This is Riverbed’s largest product launch in years, and all these solutions are now available. Good AI starts with good data, and our visibility platform and solutions provide IT with real and highly accurate data that are the most comprehensive in the industry, along with an AIOps engine that uses AI automation to solve problems more quickly, often without human intervention. In essence, Riverbed focuses on helping organizations improve their users’ digital experiences through the use of AI automation for the prevention, identification, and resolution of IT issues.”

## Riverbed Platform: AI-driven observability capacity to optimize digital experiences

The new Riverbed Platform is open, simple, and intelligent, allowing IT organizations to collect, analyze, automate, and report on data to deliver optimized digital experiences. Riverbed Platform collects high-fidelity data spanning networks, IT infrastructure, applications, user experience, endpoints, and cloud; and as an open platform, it launches with approximately 35 pre-configured application and software integrations. Riverbed Platform applies the data, including third-party data, to an AIOps engine for analysis and correlation, where root cause identification is determined, and automated solutions are put into action. Reports are generated through Riverbed dashboards or integration with IT service management tools like ServiceNow. The Riverbed Platform includes a range of underlying technologies, including:

– The new **Riverbed Unified Agent**, which streamlines the deployment and management of visibility solutions with a single agent. The unified agent allows the IT department to add SaaS visibility modules, such as Aternity for end-user experience monitoring and NPM+ for network and cloud monitoring, to collect more data without the need to add agents. Riverbed Unified Agent includes a powerful agent management tool.

– **Riverbed Data Store**, which consumes, analyzes, and reports on petabytes of data. Data Store connects an organization’s data sources in an efficient data repository that provides the right data to businesses in a timely manner. This patented technology allows customers to benefit from Riverbed’s powerful data repository that makes AI actionable, without the need for a company to create its own, which is highly challenging.

– **Topology Viewer**, to generate dynamic maps of connected devices and show dependencies within dynamic and evolving IT environments, putting data into context.

Among the new visibility and data collection solutions are:

– **Riverbed Aternity Mobile** is the first tool of its kind for mobile monitoring that increases employee productivity by allowing IT teams to proactively identify performance issues on company-provided mobile devices and take specific corrective actions. According to Gartner, an estimated 155 million new company-owned mobile devices are brought online each year, with these devices being used for mission-critical work by frontline employees across sectors. Aternity Mobile operates on Apple iOS and Android across the broadest range of devices, addressing a significant visibility gap on device performance and user experience.

– **Riverbed NPM+** is the first of a series of NPM SaaS services, where data collection is done through the Riverbed Unified Agent at the endpoint. NPM+, a pioneering method in the industry, overcomes traditional network blind spots created by remote work, public clouds, and encrypted architectures like Zero Trust environments, expanding packet visibility to network locations where monitoring was previously not possible. NPM+ is designed to collect decrypted data at every user and server endpoint (including Kubernetes), filling visibility gaps such as encrypted tunnels in Zero Trust architectures.

– **Riverbed NetProfiler**, which provides real-time visibility into network traffic and application performance, now offers new features to monitor the status and performance of SD-WAN, including Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela) and VeloCloud.

## Riverbed IQ 2.0 and Aternity Intelligent Service Desk

Introduced in 2022, second-generation Riverbed IQ 2.0 is an AIOps SaaS service that uses AI-driven automation to contextualize and correlate real data across the IT environment to prevent, identify, and resolve issues quickly. Riverbed IQ 2.0 replicates and automates IT expert best practices to gather additional context, filter out noise, and prioritize, reducing alerts only to the most impactful ones. Riverbed IQ 2.0 leverages AIOps techniques like Riverbed Data Store and Topology Viewer and uses Riverbed Automation to automate processes so that IT departments can resolve issues faster, often without human intervention.

The new version of Riverbed IQ 2.0 leverages expanded data collection sources, as well as a growing library of 170 pre-activated Aternity remediations, application integrations, and tools to create custom remediations. Additionally, custom tags and on-demand automation allow IT organizations to immediately trigger a fix or schedule it to run at a pre-planned time.

Riverbed IQ 2.0 follows the recent launch of Aternity Intelligent Service Desk, which enhances efficiency and availability in call centers and customer service. This new Aternity feature leverages AI and triggers workflows to automate and resolve common issues. Additionally, Aternity Intelligent Service Desk allows the IT department to understand end-user satisfaction by integrating sentiment analysis into all correction workflows, from issue detection to resolution. The result is increased customer and user satisfaction for call centers and support services.

“Organizations are rushing to deploy AI solutions and learning that successful AI outcomes are only possible with high-quality, reliable, and relevant data. The complex IT landscape, characterized by distributed infrastructures and hybrid work arrangements, also demands robust observability to ensure positive user digital experiences,” commented Bob Laliberte, principal analyst at theCUBE Research. “Riverbed’s new AI-driven observability platform optimizes digital experiences by leveraging a unified agent, all existing Riverbed solutions, new network and mobile solutions, and second-generation AI technology with nearly 200 pre-activated responses. The platform offers an open architecture to support a partner ecosystem, integrations, and third-party data use. By harnessing Riverbed’s platform, organizations can reduce the complexity of supporting highly distributed environments to drive operational efficiency, deliver better digital experiences, and enable business growth.”
