Qualcomm Drives Digital Transformation at Embedded World with Advanced Edge AI Solutions

Qualcomm Technologies has been one of the major players at Embedded World 2025, held in Nuremberg, Germany, from March 11 to 13. The company showcased an unprecedented technological deployment aimed at reinforcing its position as a leader in edge artificial intelligence, high-speed connectivity, and solutions for the Internet of Things (IoT), automotive, and healthcare sectors.

The fair, which brought together over 32,000 visitors and 1,100 exhibitors at its last edition, once again served as the stage where Qualcomm demonstrated its capability to bring intelligent computing to all types of devices.

Strategic Acquisition of Edge Impulse

One of the most significant announcements was the agreement to acquire Edge Impulse Inc., a renowned edge AI development platform used by over 170,000 developers worldwide. This platform facilitates the creation, deployment, and monitoring of artificial intelligence models across multiple devices and will now allow developers to work directly on Qualcomm Dragonwing processors, optimized for AI inference, computer vision, graphics, and advanced processing.

New Development Kits and Hands-On Demonstrations

Qualcomm showcased new Qualcomm QCC74xM EVK and QCC730M EVK evaluation kits at its booth, allowing developers to explore the capabilities of these modules. These kits feature advanced connectivity (low-power Wi-Fi, support for Bluetooth and Matter) and optimized energy performance, making them an ideal choice for embedded systems with high demands for flexibility and autonomy.

Additionally, Qualcomm’s traditional “wall of boards” has expanded to include 98 modules and third-party development kits, offering engineers and system architects a wide range of options for developing new projects.

Real Solutions for the Near Future

The demonstration area featured over a dozen innovative solutions from strategic partners:

  • Sunmi, iterate.ai, and AuthSignal presented a self-service system with biometric recognition and a generative AI assistant, anticipating the upcoming revolution in retail.
  • Sigma Connectivity showcased an innovative real-time translation system from American Sign Language (ASL) to text using machine learning and dual cameras.
  • Promwad presented a delivery robot with advanced navigation and interaction capabilities, powered by artificial intelligence.

The centerpiece of the booth was a 3D interactive table simulating industrial applications such as worker assistance, incident response, safety, and asset review, highlighting the applicability of AI in industrial settings.

Qualcomm Reinforces Its Leadership in the IoT Ecosystem

Qualcomm’s participation in Embedded World 2025 consolidates its role as a benchmark in platforms for developers and advanced industrial solutions. The company continues to focus on bringing AI to all devices, with a clear emphasis on edge computing, where privacy, low latency, and local processing capability are key.

For all those interested in discovering these innovations firsthand, Qualcomm has been present in Hall 5, booth #5-161, demonstrating that the future of digital transformation lies in intelligent, powerful, and sustainable edge solutions.
