QNAP Unveils the QSW 2000 Series of Web-Managed Layer 2 Switches with 2.5GbE/10GbE

QNAP Systems, a company specializing in storage, networking, and IT solutions, has announced its new range of web-managed Layer 2 switches, part of the QSW-M2130 series. The family includes two models: the QSW-M2130-4C2S24T and the QSW-M2130P-2C2S26T, the latter supporting PoE++ and aimed at businesses that require an efficient, flexible, and easily expandable network infrastructure.

In enterprise environments and offices spread across multiple floors, network growth often increases management complexity. To address this need, the QSW-M2130 series is designed to function both as an access switch and as an aggregation or distribution switch within a single device. Thanks to its 24 2.5GbE ports, it provides stable connections for workstations, NAS systems, and other end devices, while the 10GbE ports facilitate traffic aggregation toward the core network. This results in a scalable, easy-to-manage network architecture with quicker deployment.

Meanwhile, the QSW-M2130P-2C2S26T model features IEEE 802.3bt PoE++ high-power support to meet the demands of modern wireless infrastructures. This switch offers a total power capacity of up to 375 W, with ports capable of delivering up to 90 W and 45 W, providing stable power and multi-gigabit connectivity for high-consumption devices such as Wi-Fi 6/6E/7 access points, 4K IP cameras, IP phones, or digital signage systems. With this, the company aims to eliminate bandwidth bottlenecks in modern enterprise networks.

“The biggest current challenge in networking is an unchecked ‘saturated architecture’. The QSW-M2130 series delivers a network that adapts without losing control,” said Ronald Hsu, QNAP Product Manager, who added: “Whether providing high-speed connectivity for workstations and NAS devices or meeting power needs for next-generation Wi-Fi networks and high-resolution cameras with our PoE model, this series simplifies complex setups and allows companies to maintain a straightforward topology with predictable performance.”

Both models share several key features designed to optimize enterprise networks:

  • 1+1 Aggregation and Access: Functions simultaneously as an endpoint access switch and as a campus aggregation switch, consolidating traffic from multiple 2.5GbE devices and connecting to the backbone through 10GbE.
  • Flexible 10GbE Combo Ports: Equipped with dual-purpose 10GbE combo ports supporting both RJ45 copper and SFP+ fiber interfaces, allowing IT administrators to switch connection methods flexibly based on existing cabling.
  • Comprehensive L2 Management: Supports essential Layer 2 management features such as LACP, QoS, VLAN, and IGMP Snooping, enabling efficient bandwidth allocation and optimized overall performance.
  • Advanced Security and System Protection: Includes ACLs, DoS attack prevention, RSTP topology protocol, and flow control to safeguard against malicious traffic, prevent network loops, and avoid packet loss.
  • Intuitive QSS Management Interface: Features the QNAP Switch System (QSS), a user-friendly web graphic interface for managing ports and firmware updates easily with a single click.
  • Superior Quality (Made in Taiwan): Designed and manufactured in Taiwan, ensuring high manufacturing quality, stability, and reliability for enterprise IT infrastructure.

Key specifications for each model:

  • QSW-M2130-4C2S24T: 24 RJ45 2.5GbE ports, 2 SFP+ 10GbE fiber ports, and 4 combo (RJ45/SFP+) 10GbE ports.
  • QSW-M2130P-2C2S26T: 24 RJ45 2.5GbE ports, 2 SFP+ 10GbE ports, 2 RJ45 10GbE ports, and 2 combo 10GbE ports. Supports IEEE 802.3bt PoE++ with up to 375 W total power delivery.
