Pure Storage® (NYSE: PSTG), the pioneering technology company that offers the world’s most advanced data storage technology and services, has announced the launch of new self-service features on its Pure1® storage management platform and Evergreen® subscription portfolio, fulfilling its commitment to provide customers worldwide with comprehensive and valuable software-based solutions through a unified platform experience.
Importance to the sector
Pure Storage has led changes in enterprise data storage since its founding in 2009. What started as a focus on high-performance storage hardware has evolved into a comprehensive platform that delivers outstanding results, emphasizing service delivery through storage as a service (STaaS) and automated software.
This strategic shift towards a more results-focused service approach reflects Pure Storage’s goal of meeting the changing demands of modern businesses looking for efficient, cost-effective, and scalable storage solutions.
This announcement showcases Pure Storage’s relentless efforts to provide a valuable software-as-a-service (SaaS) experience to businesses worldwide, eliminating time-consuming IT operations with expanded software functionalities that automate updates to the flash storage operating environment Purity, optimize data protection, simplify invoice management and ESG reporting, and enhance partner information—all at no cost and available immediately with an Evergreen subscription.
Highlights:
Enhanced self-service
Autonomous self-service updates: Over 30% of Pure Storage’s customer portfolio uses ActiveCluster™. Updates to the Purity operating environment for ActiveCluster previously required manual effort as customers switched between updates to keep servers synchronized. With the new autonomous updates, customers can simply opt for a Purity update and let Pure Storage handle the process through their Pure1 platform, saving the time they previously spent managing the process themselves.
Simplified data resilience
Optimized ransomware anomaly detection: In Pure1, organizations can use IAOps to detect ransomware-related anomalies in their data resources. In case of an anomaly, Pure1 now recommends snapshots from which customers can restore their affected data (both locally and remotely), eliminating lengthy manual reviews of snapshot catalogs that could last from hours to days.
Automated disaster recovery as a service: Following the recent launch of its first disaster recovery as a service offering, Pure Storage now offers DRaaS 1.1 with Pure1, allowing customers to implement disaster recovery in their data center in 15 minutes or less. Organizations running virtual machines (VM) in a VMware environment can now use Pure1 to deploy a self-service disaster recovery environment in the AWS cloud. Additionally, Pure Storage has introduced a new automatic enrollment feature that allows organizations to tag (enroll automatically) their data center virtual machines for added protection.
Improved partner experience
Partner performance tracking/partner information: Currently in Beta phase, Pure Storage partners have an additional layer of performance granularity and an enhanced user experience.
Simplified invoice management: With the new streamlined invoice management, Pure Storage offers customers transparency across all their Evergreen subscriptions through a control panel that provides a unified view. The new functionality enhances partner tracking and verification capabilities, which can often create tensions in the partner-customer relationship.
Transparent sustainability compliance
Customized ESG reports for executives: In support of Pure Storage’s previously announced sustainability assessment, Pure Storage now provides an executive-level customizable ESG report, including a summarized view of the data center and fleet overall, highlighting areas for improvement. This allows IT teams to better inform management of the impact their IT infrastructure has on sustainability and align more closely with organizational sustainability goals.
