Pimax Revolutionizes Virtual Reality with the Launch of the Crystal Super at CES 2025

Pimax, a recognized leader in high-performance virtual reality technology, has unveiled its latest groundbreaking device, the Crystal Super, at CES 2025. This headset, the first to integrate retina-level technology, sets a new standard in visual clarity and immersive experience for VR users.

Revolutionary Features of the Crystal Super

The Crystal Super stands out with its impressive resolution of 3840×3840 pixels per eye, reaching a total of 29 million pixels, making it the world’s first virtual reality device to offer visual precision equivalent to retina technology. Its design incorporates aspheric glass lenses, providing a pixel density of 57 PPD (pixels per degree), a horizontal field of view of over 120°, and a brightness of 280 nits, ensuring an unprecedented visual experience.

The showcased device corresponds to the Crystal Super DVT2 (Design Validation Test #2) model, where all main functions, except eye tracking, are already operational. According to Pimax, final adjustments will further optimize performance before market launch.

Flexibility and Customization with Interchangeable Optical Engines

One of the most innovative features of the Crystal Super is its optical flexibility. Users will be able to easily swap the device’s panels and lenses in seconds. At CES, Pimax showcased its technology with a QLED 57 PPD panel and announced the launch of additional options, such as QLED 50 PPD and Micro-OLED panels, which will be available in the first quarter of 2025.

More Options for Enthusiasts and Professionals

In addition to the Crystal Super, Pimax introduced the Crystal Light, a more affordable alternative for consumers looking for a high-quality headset for flight simulations and racing. This device was showcased in collaboration with key partners like Next Level Racing, MOZA Racing, and Podium1, highlighting its application in areas such as professional design, sports training, and industrial simulations.

Another notable release was the Airlink 60G, which enables wireless VR with ultra-low latency. This system is already available for the original Crystal model and now includes a refresh rate of 90 Hz, offering greater freedom without compromising visual performance.

Reactions at CES 2025

Pimax founder Robin Weng expressed enthusiasm about the positive reception from attendees:
“It’s an exciting experience to be at CES, interacting with users and seeing them enjoy our innovations. The public unveiling of the Crystal Super has confirmed that we are taking VR technology to new heights.”

Availability and the Future of VR with Pimax

With the Crystal Super, Pimax demonstrates its commitment to offering virtual reality experiences that redefine the boundaries of current technology. The device will be available for pre-order soon, with initial shipments expected by mid-2025.
