The Taiwanese company showcases its advancements in storage and computing for artificial intelligence, highlighting the first SSD controller with integrated AI processing and a solution for deploying LLMs in private environments.
Phison Electronics, a renowned firm specializing in NAND storage solutions and SSD controllers, unveiled a comprehensive catalog of innovations at COMPUTEX 2025 designed to accelerate large-scale adoption of artificial intelligence. Under the slogan “Accelerate Innovation with Phison”, the company introduced everything from new enterprise SSDs to controllers with AI computing capabilities, along with platforms for local deployment of language models.
Pascari X200Z: Enterprise SSD for Intensive AI Workloads
One of the standout new releases is the Pascari X200Z, a Gen5 PCIe NVMe SSD that redefines endurance and performance for data centers. Specifically designed for real-time analytics and generative model training environments, this drive achieves up to 60 write cycles per day (DWPD), nearing the latency of SCM memory.
With this model, Phison aims directly at the storage challenges posed by the most demanding workloads, such as transactional databases, high-frequency logging, and training of LLMs.
aiDAPTIVGPT: Private, Local, Secure Generative AI
Phison also launched aiDAPTIVGPT, an all-in-one AI inference tool for educational institutions, SMEs, and public administrations. Based on the award-winning aiDAPTIV+ platform, this solution allows for local deployment of generative language models, safeguarding data privacy and avoiding reliance on public clouds.
It supports tasks like conversational assistants, semantic search, code generation, and data analysis, delivering cloud-like performance executed on in-house installations.
aiDAPTIVCache AI150EJ: Accelerating Edge AI
For edge inference systems and robotics, Phison presented the aiDAPTIVCache AI150EJ, a memory expansion module for GPUs that reduces Time to First Token and improves token generation speed. Its integration with the aiDAPTIVLink software allows for scaling performance on low-latency devices.
E28: The First SSD Controller with Integrated AI
With the E28, Phison introduces the world’s first SSD controller with embedded artificial intelligence processing capabilities. Manufactured using TSMC’s 6nm technology, this chip breaks performance barriers (up to 3 million IOPS) and energy efficiency, consuming up to 15% less power than its competitors.
This controller has been awarded the Golden Award at COMPUTEX 2025, highlighting its potential to lead the next generation of high-performance SSDs.
E31T: PCIe Gen5 Without DRAM for Laptops
Phison also showcased the E31T, a DRAM-less PCIe 5.0 controller aimed at ultra-thin laptops and gaming consoles. Compatible with M.2 2230 and 2242 formats, it offers high performance with low power consumption, ideal for mobile devices that require compact, fast storage.
Next-Generation Connectivity
In the connectivity section, the company introduced several world-firsts:
- First PCIe 5.0 retimer certified for CXL 2.0
- First PCIe 6.0 redriver on the market
- Prototypes of retimer, SerDes PHY, and PCIe over fiber optics for PCIe 6.0 in joint development with clients
