OVHcloud opens its first local public cloud zone in Spain, strengthening its agile deployment model.

OVHcloud, the European cloud computing giant, has announced the opening of its first Public Cloud Local Zone in Madrid, marking a milestone in its expansion strategy and offering its customers low-latency cloud services and local data hosting. This initiative benefits from gridscale technology, recently acquired by OVHcloud, allowing for agile and efficient deployment in new international locations. With this opening, and the existing one in Brussels, OVHcloud positions itself at the forefront of public cloud, offering innovative solutions tailored to the needs of the European market.

Gridscale Technology: The Foundation of Growth

gridscale technology provides an essential software layer for the development of OVHcloud’s growth strategy in the edge computing market. Thanks to its simplified infrastructure, Local Zones promise greater agility and flexibility, allowing OVHcloud to quickly implement its Public Cloud environments. Additionally, these zones require less initial investment than traditional datacenters, giving OVHcloud a significant competitive advantage in the sector.

An Ambitious Deployment Plan

In the face of a constantly growing cloud market, OVHcloud has outlined an ambitious deployment plan aimed at meeting the demand for cloud services in both existing regions and new markets. With the goal of opening up to 150 Local Zones by 2026, this plan begins in regions where OVHcloud’s growth is most notable. By 2024, up to 15 new Local Zones are expected to be opened in Europe and the United States, including cities like Prague, Marseille, Milan, Amsterdam, Zurich, Atlanta, Denver, Chicago, Dallas, New York, and San Jose.

Benefits of Open and Trusted Cloud

OVHcloud’s Local Zones offer all the advantages of an open and trusted cloud, adding the benefits of local data residency and improved latency. This is especially relevant for latency-sensitive workloads, such as real-time analytics and cloud gaming, which will benefit from faster response times and a better user experience. Clients can enjoy single-digit millisecond latency, enabling high-performance use cases with minimal latency.

Availability and Security

The OVHcloud Local Zone in Madrid is already available in beta, offering customers the ability to deploy Public Cloud services directly from the OVHcloud customer interface. The Local Zone in Brussels is also available in beta for Public Cloud services. Furthermore, these new Local Zones are certified with ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27017, and ISO/IEC 27018 certifications, ensuring the highest security standards for businesses.

With the opening of these Local Zones, OVHcloud reaffirms its commitment to the Spanish and European market, offering innovative solutions that meet the needs of a secure, trusted, and high-performance cloud. This expansion not only reinforces OVHcloud’s agile deployment model but also opens up new possibilities for access to public cloud services with maximum efficiency and security.
