OVHcloud Launches Object Storage Standard 3-AZ in Paris with High Resilience for Critical Data

OVHcloud, a European leader in cloud services, has announced the availability of its new multi-availability zone object storage (3-AZ) solution in the Paris region. This innovation is designed to provide high resilience, continuous availability, and redundancy, making it an ideal choice for sectors such as banking, healthcare, insurance, and government agencies that require uninterrupted access to data.

According to Yaniv Fdida, Chief Product and Technology Officer of OVHcloud, this launch represents a milestone in the evolution of cloud storage, providing a new deployment architecture focused on ensuring business continuity in critical environments.

Advanced resilience for critical data

Modern business applications increasingly rely on high-availability infrastructures. In sectors such as e-commerce, digital platforms, streaming, B2B applications, and financial services, data access loss can have a significant impact.

OVHcloud’s Object Storage – Standard 3-AZ solution distributes data across three independent availability zones, located in different data centers several kilometers apart in the Paris region. Each zone features its own power supply and low-latency network, ensuring continuous access to data even in the event of a failure in one of the zones.

In the event of disruptions, this architecture allows for rapid recovery with minimal downtime. If one zone goes offline, storage continues to operate in the remaining two zones, guaranteeing 99.99% availability, supported by a Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Additionally, customers can replicate their data with a single click to another single availability zone (1-AZ) in France using the Offsite Replication feature. This option enables automatic copying of data stored in Paris to other OVHcloud data centers in Strasbourg, Gravelines, or Roubaix, further enhancing security and redundancy.

Enterprise-grade compatibility and security

The new 3-AZ solution from OVHcloud is S3 compatible, making interoperability with multiple cloud storage platforms easy. It also supports advanced features such as asynchronous replication, object versioning, and object locking, providing greater protection against data loss.

Compatible systems with this service include widely recognized solutions such as Veeam, HYCU, and Nextcloud.

In terms of security and compliance, the 3-AZ Paris region holds ISO 27001 certification and HDS certification, making it suitable for environments that require strict data protection standards, such as the healthcare sector.

Transparent and competitive pricing model

OVHcloud has structured its pricing model competitively, offering storage starting at 14 euros/TB per month, with no data egress fees. For volumes over 500 TB, the price drops to 11 euros/TB per month. The Offsite Replication option is available for an additional cost of 4 euros/TB per month.

Future expansion and technology roadmap

OVHcloud’s new multi-availability zone architecture is not limited to object storage. In spring 2025, the company plans to launch beta versions of new cloud solutions optimized for 3-AZ deployments, including compute instances (B3, C3, and R3), block storage, and advanced networking solutions.

This launch reinforces OVHcloud’s position as a leader in European cloud, providing its customers with scalable solutions, high resilience, and data sovereignty. With a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency, the company continues to develop services with a low carbon footprint, while ensuring performance, security, and predictable pricing.
