The European multinational OVHcloud has announced today the launch of Data Platform, an enterprise-level PaaS solution designed to address all current challenges surrounding data management, analysis, and exploitation. With this new platform, the French company consolidates its sovereign cloud offering, based on open standards and focused on the technological autonomy of organizations of all sizes.
Data Platform provides an end-to-end solution that enables data teams to collect, store, process, analyze, and visualize information within a reliable cloud environment that complies with European regulations. Its goal: to simplify technical complexity and allow businesses to focus on the true value of data.
A Comprehensive Platform for Analytics and Data Science Projects
Designed with and for data teams—from engineers to scientists and analysts—OVHcloud Data Platform is presented as a ready-to-use solution, unifying managed services such as:
- Data Streaming
- Storage and pipeline orchestration
- Advanced visualization and exploration tools
- Integration with AI services, such as endpoints for OCR, multimodal transcription, anomaly detection, and automated data cleaning
The platform allows data to be extracted from multiple sources, thanks to its Lakehouse manager, compatible with Object Storage, Apache Kafka, ClickHouse, MongoDB, MySQL, Oracle, Google Analytics, BigQuery, Snowflake, OVHcloud APIs, and more.
Multi-Sector Use Cases
Designed to facilitate access to Business Intelligence and AI projects, OVHcloud has identified a series of vertical sectors where the platform is already demonstrating its applicability:
- Retail and e-commerce: customer segmentation and inventory forecasting.
- Finance: fraud detection, credit scoring, risk analysis.
- Healthcare: support for clinical trials and patient data analysis.
- Media and entertainment: evaluation of advertising campaigns, sentiment analysis.
- Industry 4.0: predictive maintenance, supply chain optimization, and quality control.
Based on Open Standards and Optimized with ForePaaS
The new platform relies on widely adopted open-source technologies in modern data environments, including Apache Iceberg, Spark, Pandas, Jupyter notebooks, Trino, SuperSet, Prometheus, and Kubernetes. The core engine comes from ForePaaS, a company acquired by OVHcloud that specializes in PaaS environments for data science.
As for languages, the environment supports ANSI SQL and Python, making it easy for multidisciplinary teams to adopt and reducing the learning curve.
A Unified Solution for Data Teams
Unlike other fragmented solutions, OVHcloud Data Platform presents itself as a complete stack, accessible from a single interface. It is designed to serve both regulated large organizations and SMEs looking to deploy data projects without complex infrastructure.
Additionally, the platform integrates with OVHcloud’s training and deployment services for models using serverless GPU, which accelerates the journey “from data to model.”
Sovereign Cloud and European Compliance
The new solution runs in OVHcloud’s European data centers, meeting the highest security standards. Data is exclusively hosted in Europe, ensuring digital sovereignty and protection against extraterritorial regulations such as the U.S. Cloud Act.
This open and sustainable cloud proposal aligns with OVHcloud’s strategic commitment to provide companies with alternatives to U.S. hyperscalers, without sacrificing innovation or technical control.
Availability and Pricing
The OVHcloud Data Platform is now available in Europe, specifically from the Gravelines data center, under a pay-as-you-go billing model. Soon, capacity reservation options will be offered for greater cost predictability.
