ODATA strengthens its presence in Mexico with the expansion of its Data Center in Queretaro

ODATA, a company of Aligned Data Centers and one of the leading providers of data center services in Latin America, has announced the expansion of its operations in Mexico, thus consolidating its commitment to the technological growth of the region. The company has begun the expansion of its Data Center QR01, strategically located in Querétaro, and has started the construction of two new campuses, DC QR02 and DC QR03, to meet the growing demand for IT infrastructure and cloud services in the Mexican market.

The expansion of the QR01 campus will allow ODATA to reach a capacity of up to 32 MW, equipping the facility with cutting-edge technology for its hyperscale clients, i.e., large companies that require robust and flexible infrastructure for processing large volumes of data. This expansion, according to Ricardo Alário, CEO of ODATA for Latin America, is a response to the success and high demand for services in the region. “This expansion of QR01 demonstrates the continued interest of clients in the market, the successful execution of our teams, and the long-term value of data center development in Querétaro,” highlighted Alário.

New projects in Guanajuato and El Marqués

ODATA is not stopping in Querétaro. The company has started the construction of the DC QR02 campus in the state of Guanajuato, which will have a capacity of 30 MW, and the DC QR03 campus in El Marqués, near Mexico City. The latter promises to be the largest data center in Mexico, with an installed capacity of 150 MW, and will focus on meeting the needs of hyperscale clients seeking high-capacity and secure infrastructures.

The choice of these strategic locations underlines ODATA’s intention to position itself at the center of the Mexican technology market, allowing it to take advantage of the proximity to important urban and business centers. According to Alário, “Mexico is currently one of the main markets in Latin America, in which ODATA is well established and rooted to sustain its growth.” The company has a strong reputation in the country, regional experience, and a trusted relationship with local providers, factors that facilitate its rapid expansion.

Mexico, leader in IT growth in Latin America

Mexico’s potential as a hub for cloud services and data centers is supported by a recent study from IDC (International Data Corporation), which indicates that the IT market in Mexico grew by 22% in 2023, surpassing even Brazil, which registered a growth of 15%. Regionally, Latin America will experience an 11% growth in 2024, driven by the increasing investment of companies seeking to improve their productivity, competitiveness, and innovation through technology.

Commitment to innovation and security

ODATA has solidified its leadership in the data center sector in Latin America thanks to its commitment to innovation, security, and reliability of its infrastructure. The company offers high-quality solutions for companies that need to quickly scale their operations in the Latin American market. “We believe in the country’s potential as a strategic hub for Data Center and cloud services in Latin America. Our technical expertise and commitment to innovation position us as ideal partners for companies seeking reliable and advanced solutions for their IT needs,” stated Alário.

With these new investments and its capacity for expansion, ODATA reaffirms its role as one of the key players in the growth of digital infrastructure in Mexico and the entire region. The expansion of its operations not only responds to the needs of the current market but also aligns with the digital transformation trends that are shaping the future of businesses in Latin America.
