ODATA strengthens its leadership in Colombia with two new high-capacity data centers

ODATA, a subsidiary company of Aligned and a leader in data center infrastructure services in Latin America, has announced an ambitious expansion in Colombia with the construction of two new campuses: DC BG02 and DC BG03. These centers, located in the Zona Franca de Occidente in Mosquera and the Zona Franca Metropolitana in Tenjo, in the department of Cundinamarca, will add up to a combined capacity of 144 MW. This strategic investment, valued at 1.3 billion dollars, reaffirms Colombia’s position as a key technological hub for the region.

The Largest Data Center in Colombia
With a capacity of 120 MW, DC BG03 will become the largest data center campus in the country, boosting the digital infrastructure demanded by cloud service providers and artificial intelligence companies. This center will not only be the largest, but also the first to connect directly to the local power transmission system, ensuring greater scalability and stability for the technological operations of the companies that use it. This advancement not only represents a significant improvement for local companies, but also an opportunity to attract international investments looking for robust and reliable infrastructure in Latin America.

ODATA: Consolidating its Leadership in the Colombian Market
ODATA began its presence in Colombia in 2018 with the opening of the DC BG01 campus, which is currently a connectivity hub for local and multinational companies. Since then, the company has consolidated its leadership in the country, offering cutting-edge technological infrastructure. Ricardo Alário, CEO of ODATA, highlighted the importance of this new investment: “The new data centers in Colombia further strengthen ODATA’s name in the country and in Latin America. Through them, we will be able to create more business opportunities sustainably, as well as reinforce our commitment to Colombia’s digital development.”

Innovation and Sustainability: Delta³, the Key to the Future
Data centers DC BG02 and DC BG03 will be built under the innovation and sustainability standards that characterize ODATA. Both will feature the advanced Delta Cube (Delta³) cooling technology developed by Aligned Data Centers. This air cooling system removes heat directly at its source, improving energy efficiency and allowing for greater scalability, with a cooling capacity of up to 50 kW per rack.

In addition, Delta³ is designed to integrate liquid cooling systems, making it an ideal solution for high-density applications, such as those required by artificial intelligence systems. This technology not only maximizes space utilization, but also contributes to energy savings, a key factor for companies looking to reduce their carbon footprint.

Boosting Colombia’s Digital Development
ODATA’s expansion in Colombia will not only benefit large technology companies operating in the country, but also contribute to the digital development of the region. The ability to process large data loads, especially in the cloud and artificial intelligence fields, will allow Colombia to position itself as a leader in the Latin American technology sector.

With the completion of the first construction phases scheduled for the second half of 2026, ODATA’s new campuses will mark a turning point in the country’s technological infrastructure, offering companies ideal conditions to develop their operations efficiently, scalably, and sustainably.

In conclusion, with the announcement of data centers DC BG02 and DC BG03, ODATA reinforces its position as a leader in digital infrastructure services in Latin America, while consolidating Colombia as a strategic node in the global data center network.
