NTT DATA and Google Cloud form a global partnership to accelerate adoption of responsible AI and cloud modernization in businesses

The tech giant NTT DATA has announced a global strategic partnership with Google Cloud aimed at driving the adoption of agentic AI and accelerating cloud infrastructure modernization across various industries. The collaboration seeks to deliver industry-specific solutions by leveraging NTT DATA’s expertise in artificial intelligence, native cloud modernization, and data engineering, alongside Google’s advanced analytics, AI, and cloud capabilities.

This initiative includes co-innovation and a strong commitment to joint investment to ensure smooth adoption in key markets. According to Gartner projections, global end-user spending on public cloud services is expected to reach $723 billion in 2025, up from $595.7 billion in 2024, driven by the rapid growth of AI in IT and business operations.

“This collaboration marks a milestone in our mission to digitally transform entire industries,” emphasized Marv Mouchawar, NTT DATA’s Global Innovation Head. “Combining our experience with Google Cloud’s technology will enable companies to accelerate AI-driven cloud adoption and uncover new growth opportunities.”

Meanwhile, Kevin Ichhpurani, President of Google Cloud’s Global Partner Ecosystem, highlighted that this partnership will allow organizations to deploy smart agents capable of modernizing operations and addressing complex business challenges.

Industry-Specific AI-Driven Solutions

The partnership will focus on developing tailored AI and cloud solutions for sectors including banking, insurance, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, life sciences, and government.

For example, in financial services, compliance and reporting will be enhanced through solutions like NTT DATA’s Regla, which utilizes Google Cloud’s scalable AI infrastructure. In hospitality, the company’s Virtual Travel Concierge offers multilingual 24/7 assistance, real-time itinerary planning, and intelligent recommendations powered by Google’s Gemini models.

Key areas of the agreement include:

  • Sector-specific agentic AI: Using Google Agentspace, Gemini models, secure data clean rooms, and modern data platforms.
  • AI-powered cloud modernization: With Google Distributed Cloud combined with NTT DATA’s global infrastructure, from data centers to edge computing.
  • Application security and modernization: Including mainframe migration, DevOps, API management, cybersecurity, and SAP on Google Cloud.
  • Data sovereignty: Deployments configured for regulated sectors like finance, public administration, and healthcare, ensuring compliance without hindering innovation.
  • Sandbox environment for Google Distributed Cloud: Facilitating hands-on training and accelerating development with ready-to-use templates.

Global Innovation and Deployment Framework

The agreement leverages Takumi, NTT DATA’s Generative AI framework that guides clients from ideation to large-scale deployment. Takumi natively integrates with Google Cloud’s AI stack, enabling rapid prototyping and operationalization of generative AI use cases.

Additionally, NTT DATA will expand its Smart AI Agent Ecosystem, a collection of technology alliances, specialized assets, and AI-ready talent, to support responsible deployment aligned with business goals.

New Google Cloud Business Group and Massive Certification Initiative

To scale these solutions, NTT DATA has established a Google Cloud Business Group comprising thousands of engineers, architects, and consultants. This team will work closely with Google Cloud to implement large-scale cloud AI technologies.

The company plans to certify 5,000 engineers in Google Cloud technologies, reinforcing its leadership in cloud transformation. Joint sales and marketing campaigns will also be launched to accelerate adoption across priority industries.

Building on Existing Agreements and Success Stories

This collaboration builds on a co-innovation agreement signed in 2024 in Asia-Pacific, reinforced by the acquisition of Niveus Solutions, a Google Cloud partner recognized in 2025 in India, APAC, and Chile.

One notable success case is Carrefour, which migrated over 380 workloads to Google Cloud and consolidated 100 legacy applications running SAP HANA in the cloud, leading to greater agility for campaigns like Black Friday and faster rollout of new services.
