Red.es, an agency under the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Public Function, has launched a new call for the Digital Kit program, this time aimed at medium-sized companies with between 50 and 250 employees. For the first time, the funding includes technology solutions based on Artificial Intelligence (AI), a step that reinforces the commitment to the digitization of the Spanish business fabric.
Financial aid of up to 29,000 euros
The program features a digital voucher of 25,000 euros for companies with between 50 and fewer than 100 employees, and 29,000 euros for those with between 100 and fewer than 250 workers. This aid will allow companies to access a catalog of 14 updated digital solutions available on the Acelera pyme platform, which includes everything from e-commerce to cybersecurityCybersecurity solutions are essential in the digital era…, along with tools for business analytics and AI.
Updates in the catalog of solutions
Among the main updates, the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence technologies stands out in areas such as customer management, business analytics, and process management. However, some solutions are not compatible with one another, such as standard process management and the one that incorporates AI. Companies will need to choose the option that best fits their needs to optimize available resources.
How to access the aid
The application process, which opened on December 12, 2024 and will be available until June 30, 2025, is characterized by being agile and accessible:
- Registration and diagnosis: Companies must register on the Acelera pyme platform and complete a brief digital self-diagnosis test.
- Catalog consultation: The available solutions can be reviewed, and the most suitable ones selected.
- Application: The aid must be requested through the Red.es electronic headquarters.
Once the application is approved, the benefiting company can select digital agents to implement the solutions and formalize the corresponding service agreements.
No paperwork and maximum transparency
The program operates under the motto “zero paperwork”, streamlining processes through the use of robotics and AI tools. Companies do not need to provide additional documentation, as Red.es automatically retrieves the necessary data, ensuring both transparency and legal security. Additionally, the figure of “voluntary representative” has been established, allowing third parties to submit applications on behalf of the company, with a limit of up to 100 applications per day.
Impact and institutional support
Since its inception in 2022, the Digital Kit program has launched five calls that have benefited thousands of companies throughout Spain. During the presentation of this fifth edition, the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Spain, José Luis Bonet, emphasized the importance of public-private collaboration in economic modernization:
“Contributing to the digitalization of SMEs is the best contribution we can make to transform the country towards a knowledge-based and sustainable economy.”
The Minister of Digital Transformation, Óscar López, also highlighted the program’s success, describing it as an essential tool for promoting business digitalization. Meanwhile, María González-Veracruz, Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, noted that this specific segment for medium-sized companies can overcome one of the biggest challenges of the Spanish economy:
“Making our medium-sized enterprises take the leap and become large.”
11,200 digital agents at the service of companies
The program boasts a wide ecosystem of 11,200 digital agents authorized to sign agreements and assist companies in implementing technological solutions. These agents will also be responsible for justifying the aid and receiving payments for the digital vouchers.
A key program for digitalization
The Digital Kit is part of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan of the Government of Spain and is financed by the European NextGenerationEU funds, with a total investment of 3.067 billion euros. This project aligns with the Spain Digital 2025 Agenda and the SME Digitalization Plan 2021-2025, reaffirming the commitment to modernizing the business fabric.
With this new call, Red.es continues to lead efforts toward the digital transformation of Spanish companies, betting on innovation, sustainability, and efficiency.
