Technology company NetApp has established itself as a leader in high-capacity storage and is now announcing an ambitious expansion plan, aiming to achieve double-digit growth in the Spanish market by 2025. The new General Manager for Iberia, Maite Ramos, highlighted in a recent meeting with the media that the focus will be on facilitating large-scale adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and becoming the strategic partner for businesses looking to maximize the value of their data.
Ramos, who previously led operations at Commvault, emphasized that NetApp is currently the leader in flash storage in Spain and the only manufacturer that maintains a unified platform for the three main hyperscalers in the industry. “Our commitment to innovation in data management and cybersecurityCybersecurity solutions are essential in the era… will allow organizations to improve access to their data, whether in the cloud or on-premises,” commented Ramos. In a sector with flat market behavior, NetApp has managed to grow by 40% in the last year and expects to maintain this momentum in 2024.
Strategic Alliance with NVIDIA to Accelerate AI Adoption
One of the key growth areas for NetApp is its collaboration with NVIDIA, which will enable AI applications to manage large volumes of data securely. This partnership has boosted the implementation of agent-based AI, a type of advanced artificial intelligence that operates autonomously. Furthermore, NetApp has launched new cybersecurity solutions, such as the NetApp ONTAP Autonomous Ransomware Protection system with AI capabilities, which achieves 99% accuracy in threat detection.
The ASA A series of all-flash storage is another new offering from the company, specifically designed to manage critical workloads with latencies of less than one millisecond. These advanced solutions, along with the focus on AI and cybersecurity, help companies in their digital transformation, enabling data utilization and strengthening their cyber resilience.
Sustainability and Energy Efficiency, Other Goals of NetApp
In line with growing sustainability demands, NetApp has integrated data monitoring tools to reduce environmental impact and improve energy efficiency. The company has increased its use of renewable energy by 113% and reduced resource consumption by 31%, key measures to comply with environmental regulations. These efforts reinforce NetApp’s position as a provider committed to the environment and compliance with data protection regulations.
Maite Ramos concluded with an optimistic message about NetApp’s growth in the Spanish market, emphasizing that the company positions itself as the ideal technology partner for businesses seeking robust, secure storage solutions aligned with sustainability goals. With a combination of innovation and commitment, NetApp envisions a future where data storage, cybersecurity, and AI will drive its growth.
