Minsait Report 2024: 36% of organizations start plans in Artificial Intelligence

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to gain ground in the business and technology industry, according to the latest Digital Maturity Report from Minsait. This study reveals that 36% of Spanish organizations have already begun developing their AI strategies, highlighting the increasing importance of this technology in the business world.

Luis Abril, executive advisor at Indra and general director of Minsait, emphasized during the presentation of the report titled “AI, a snapshot of a revolution in progress” that, although only 10% of companies have a fully integrated AI plan in their strategies, a significant proportion is already in the process of development. This demonstrates the strategic potential recognized in AI for the future of business.

The study, which involved over 900 organizations from 15 different sectors, both from Spain and other countries, indicates a qualitative leap towards management models where AI is integrated into all functions of the organization. “The big challenge for companies and institutions is to accelerate innovation and the agile and flexible scaling of artificial intelligence to maintain competitiveness and sustainable growth,” added Abril.

Innovation and adoption of generative AI

The report highlights the rapid evolution and proliferation of use cases for generative AI, which is making much earlier strides compared to other emerging technologies. Generative AI is being used to enhance operational efficiency, decision-making, and the experience of customers and internal users, with adoption rates of 72%, 34%, and 31%, respectively.

Furthermore, the analysis reveals that while there is a growing awareness of the value of AI, there still persists a certain lack of vision at the executive level, a lack of knowledge about its capabilities, and a shortage of specialized professionals.

Challenges and regulation

The report also addresses the challenges organizations face in adopting AI, including the need for a robust cloud infrastructure and partnerships with specialized technology partners. 78% of organizations already have cloud infrastructure, and a third have agreements with technology partners.

The recent approval of the European AI Law has been a significant step towards clarifying the regulatory framework, helping companies better manage the regulatory instability they once saw as a barrier to implementing more AI use cases.

In conclusion, Minsait’s Ascendant Report emphasizes the importance of integrating ethics and cybersecurity from the early stages of AI projects to ensure responsible and secure use of data. This approach not only protects AI models but also prepares organizations for future developments in a technological environment that is increasingly complex and full of opportunities.
