The leading telecommunications operator in Spain strengthens its IT infrastructure with advanced Google Cloud technologies

MasOrange, the largest telecommunications operator in Spain, has announced a strategic alliance with Google Cloud to accelerate its digital transformation through artificial intelligence (AI). This agreement will enable the company to optimize its processes, enhance customer experience, and reinforce its leadership in innovation within the telecommunications sector.

AI and cloud to optimize operations and services

As part of this collaboration, MasOrange will leverage Google Cloud’s AI capabilities, integrated into the Vertex AI platform and the Gemini models, in order to more efficiently manage its networks and provide a personalized experience to its customers.

Thanks to its robust infrastructure and advanced data analytics capabilities, Google Cloud will provide MasOrange with key tools to enhance process automation, reduce operational costs, and develop innovative solutions across its entire value chain.

Automation and predictive analytics in networks and customers

Currently, MasOrange is already using Google Cloud infrastructure in its interactions with customers through AI. The company manages over 150 machine learning models in production and simultaneously launches more than 600 personalized campaigns, improving user satisfaction.

This alliance will further enhance MasOrange’s internal Advanced Analytics (AA) platform, based on Google Cloud, optimizing early detection of anomalies in the network. This will help reduce incidents, expedite repairs, and minimize service interruptions.

Additionally, through predictive AI, MasOrange will be able to enhance incident prevention in its network, optimizing service quality and ensuring greater stability in its operations.

Consolidation of IT infrastructure and unified big data

Another key aspect of the agreement is the consolidation of MasOrange’s IT infrastructure in Google Cloud, which is fundamental following the merger of MASMOVIL and Orange. The unification of information systems will create a more efficient data environment ready for the development of advanced AI models.

With tools like BigQuery, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Firestore, Cloud SQL, and Apigee, the company will enhance its data processing capability, ensuring more accurate analysis of customer needs and optimizing network performance.

A step forward in digital transformation

With this alliance, MasOrange reinforces its position as a leading telecommunications operator in Spain, with over 39 million lines across broadband and mobile and a fiber optic network reaching 30 million homes. Additionally, its mobile network covers 99% of the population with 4G and 90% with 5G, connecting 3,700 municipalities across the country.

The company also reaffirms its commitment to technological accessibility, the protection of minors in the digital environment, and the continuous improvement of user experience through innovative solutions based on AI and cloud computing.
