Liferay renews the highest certification in the National Security Scheme.

Liferay, the developer of the digital experience platform designed to offer maximum flexibility, has reaffirmed its commitment to the security of its systems by once again obtaining certification from the National Security Scheme (ENS) at the HIGH level for its cloud services, Liferay PaaS and Liferay SaaS.

This certification ensures both public and private sector entities that both Liferay PaaS and Liferay SaaS comply with the strict security requirements necessary for handling sensitive data and operations in accordance with the ENS. To achieve this certification, Liferay has met the requirements established in Royal Decree 311/2022, which regulates the National Security Scheme and defines security as a comprehensive process based on risk management, following a scheme of prevention, detection, response, and preservation.

In line with these principles, certified companies like Liferay must have defense frameworks, carry out continuous surveillance and periodic reassessments, as well as clearly differentiate responsibilities.

To achieve ENS certification, Liferay has not only strengthened the security of its systems but has also complied with organizational requirements, established new roles within its structure, and exercised competencies as stipulated by Royal Decree 311/2022. This certification is aligned with security initiatives, strategies, and standards promoted by the European Union member states. Furthermore, it adds to other certifications that the company already holds, such as ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, SOC Type 2, Hipaa, and CSA Star Level 1 and 2.

“At Liferay, we are committed to cybersecurity and protecting our customers’ data. Achieving certification from the National Security Scheme at the HIGH level for our PaaS and SaaS platforms is a testimony to this commitment. This certification not only demonstrates that we meet the highest security standards but also reinforces our position as a safe and reliable option for entities in the public sector,” stated Beatriz Escobar, Sales Director for Spain and Portugal at Liferay. “It is very important for us to be able to guarantee this security, as Liferay’s platform is used in 80% of the Autonomous Communities, with an average of 8 years of use. Additionally, we must have all the protection measures in place for all organizations handling sensitive data and operations with Liferay for over 15 years,” she added.

Liferay PaaS provides a secure, auto-scalable, and highly configurable solution that includes the provisioning of necessary infrastructure in the cloud for clients to have Liferay DXP and key services available from the get-go. This enables organizations to focus on tasks directly related to their business, ensuring maximum security and efficiency in their operations.
