More than 500 professionals from 27 countries gather at the tenth edition of the event organized by INCIBE and the OAS, emphasizing international cooperation, advanced training, and young talent.
With the presence of national and international authorities, the tenth edition of the Cybersecurity Summer BootCamp has started in León. This key event on the global cybersecurity agenda is organized by the National Institute of Cybersecurity (INCIBE), in collaboration with the Organization of American States (OAS), and the University of León. The forum brings together 507 professionals from 27 countries over two weeks of intensive training.
As stated by the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures, Antonio Hernando Vera, who attended the inauguration: “Spain has strengthened its commitment to cybersecurity with a historic investment of 1.157 billion euros as part of the new National Plan. Artificial intelligence and quantum computing are redefining cyberattacks, and we must anticipate these changes with training and strategy.”
A strategic gathering for cybersecurity defenders
#CSBC2025 is aimed at a specialized audience that includes law enforcement, prosecutors, judges, policymakers, regulators, and technical staff from CSIRT and CERT centers. The goal is to share knowledge, improve public policies, and establish transnational cooperation links.
During the event, attendees will participate in over 200 hours of advanced training, divided into five learning tracks, which include cyber crisis simulations, technical workshops, and collaborative incident resolution sessions. The program also features 104 speakers and five keynote addresses by international experts.
OAS reinforces its commitment to the region
Alison August Treppel, the Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Committee against Terrorism (CICTE) of the OAS, highlighted that “the BootCamp has become a catalyst to strengthen cybersecurity in Ibero-America.” She emphasized that the OAS has advised 21 national cybersecurity strategies, trained more than 600 leaders in cyber diplomacy, and helped establish a network of over 50 CSIRTs across 22 countries.
Elite training for Spain’s team at ECSC
One of the most notable innovations of this edition is the intensive training program for the national team representing Spain at the European Cyber Security Challenge (ECSC) 2025, scheduled to take place in Poland in October, organized by ENISA.
Twenty young talents selected from 35 public universities are being trained in León during the BootCamp. For the first time, a dual selection system based on gender parity has been implemented, with the main team composed of the top 10 profiles (5 women and 5 men). This measure reinforces INCIBE’s commitment to equal opportunities and promoting young talent in cybersecurity.
Beyond training: culture, networking, and international projection
In addition to academic activities, the BootCamp offers cultural and recreational events to foster networking. On Thursday, July 17, a concert titled “Music from Cinema in León” performed by the JOCSMAB Orchestra will be held, which is a tradition that for the tenth consecutive year turns León into the global capital of intergovernmental cybersecurity.
The Cybersecurity Summer BootCamp 2025 demonstrates that Spain is leading not only in investment and digital strategy but also in training, international cooperation, and future projection. León, the meeting’s epicenter, solidifies its position as a global reference in defending a secure, resilient, and collaborative cyberspace.
