Juniper revolutionizes data center management with AI and cloud services

Juniper Networks, a leader in AI-based secure networking, has announced a series of innovative enhancements to its data center management capabilities. These new features promise to deliver exceptional user experiences through increased visibility, analytics, and network automation.

More Flexible and Manageable Data Center Network Solution

Juniper’s data center network solution, recognized as the most flexible to design and the easiest to manage, now incorporates new cloud-hosted services that leverage AI to provide enhanced insights into the behavior of both traditional and emerging AI workload applications. This allows for continuous optimization and quick issue resolution.

Reducing Time and Costs

According to the company, these new capabilities, along with other data center assurance functions, help reduce deployment times by up to 85% and cut operational costs by up to 90% in some cases.

Solution Components

Juniper’s data center network solution currently consists of:

  • QFX Series Switches
  • EX Series Switches
  • PTX Series Routers
  • ACX Series Routers
  • High-performance SRX Series Firewalls

All these components are managed through Juniper’s data center assurance software Apstra and the Virtual Network Assistant Marvis™ (VNA).

New AI-based Cloud Services

Juniper has launched two new cloud services for data centers:

  1. Service Awareness: Utilizes AIOps to add application and service data to Juniper’s network knowledge graph, enabling greater application visibility to the network.
  2. Impact Analysis: Builds on Service Awareness to enable faster problem resolution and improved application assurance.

These services complement the Marvis VNA for data centers, announced earlier this year.

Intent-based Networking Improvements

The latest version of Juniper Apstra (version 5.0) includes over 100 new features focused on further simplifying data center operations, including:

  • Enhanced EVPN analytics
  • Easy-to-use Intent-based Analytics (IBA) buttons
  • Simplified switch port validations
  • Expanded environmental telemetry data

Industry Impact

These innovations are being well-received by customers and industry experts. Matt Schroeder, Network Engineering Manager at Avera Health, highlights the early success they’ve had with the new cloud services and AIOps capabilities.

Meanwhile, Mark Leary, Research Director of Network Observability and Automation at IDC, notes that these improvements enable data center operators to be more aware of applications and deliver assurance that enhances end-user experiences.

Juniper Networks continues to lead innovation in the data center networking field, offering solutions that combine exceptional performance with top-tier operational flexibility and simplicity.
