The Industrial Technological Center of Castilla-La Mancha (Itecam) has launched the TINDI project, focused on the research and development of cutting-edge digital technologies such as artificial intelligence and quantum computing. This project is aimed at meeting the needs of the region’s business sector.
Named “Evolution and research for the digital transformation of the industrial fabric for improving competitiveness through intensive use of cutting-edge digital technologies” (TINDI), the project is one of the five programs launched under the call for aid to technological centers, promoted by the Agency for Research and Innovation of Castilla-La Mancha.
Objectives and approach of the TINDI project
The main objective of the TINDI project is to study, research, and experiment with advanced digital technologies to enhance the development and competitiveness of the industrial ecosystem of Castilla-La Mancha. The work will be carried out from the Digital Transformation Area and the Industrial Design and Digital Manufacturing Area of the Technological Center, focusing on the development of enabling technologies to help the regional industry improve its production processes and anticipate problems through data-based solutions. Thus, it seeks to accelerate the evolution of the region’s industries towards the “smart factory.”
Applications and beneficiaries
To bring this knowledge closer to industrial SMEs, TINDI will enable various technology demonstrators with applications in industrial and operational safety, maintenance, quality, processes, product, engineering, and the environment. Although industrial SMEs are the main beneficiaries of this project, TINDI also involves large companies of Castilla-La Mancha as key players to advance in the digital transformation of the industry.
Financing and support
The eligible actions of the project are co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the framework of the ERDF Program of Castilla-La Mancha 2021-2027. With this call, the regional government seeks to strengthen technological centers, raising their level of excellence and specialization. This, in turn, will improve the services offered to companies and promote the development of R&D+I projects in the productive sectors of Castilla-La Mancha.
The TINDI project represents a significant effort by Itecam and the regional government to boost the modernization and competitiveness of the industrial fabric of the region, supporting both small and medium-sized enterprises and large corporations on their path towards digital transformation.
