At the HPE Discover 2025 event, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and Veeam Software, the global market leader in data resilience, announced an expansion of their strategic alliance. The collaboration focuses on providing integrated solutions for backup, recovery, and cyber resilience, designed to protect modern applications and enterprise hybrid environments with maximum efficiency and simplicity.
With this enhanced alliance, Veeam’s data platform will be integrated with HPE Morpheus VM Essentials Software, enabling organizations to have a unified solution for the protection of virtual machines, containers, and cloud-native workloads.
“Data is the most valuable —and often the most vulnerable— asset of an organization,” said Fidelma Russo, Executive Vice President of Hybrid Cloud and CTO of HPE. “Through this deep integration with Veeam, we are providing future-ready virtualization and data protection, empowering our customers with the agility needed to evolve their hybrid strategy.”
For his part, Anand Eswaran, CEO of Veeam, emphasized:
“Organizations face a perfect storm of cyber threats and technological complexity. Data resilience can no longer be an afterthought. This alliance ensures intelligent, secure, and scalable protection for the most demanding private and virtualized environments.”
Unified Protection, Reduced Costs, and VM Mobility
Among the standout features is the imminent compatibility of Veeam Data Platform with HPE Morpheus VM Essentials Software, including image-based backups with complete fidelity. This integration will provide companies with unified protection for multiple hypervisors, improved virtual machine mobility, and up to a 90% reduction in VM licensing costs.
Additionally, the alliance includes advanced support for containerized and cloud-native workloads through Veeam Kasten, thereby extending protection to Kubernetes environments and modern applications in production.
Global Resilience Framework: “Data Resilience by Design”
As part of the announcement, both companies launched the joint framework “Data Resilience by Design”, an initiative aimed at helping large organizations implement a holistic and proactive cybersecurity and data availability strategy. This approach includes specialized services for transformation, preparation, and assessment in cyber resilience, led by HPE.
The goal: to provide companies with a clear roadmap to strengthen their posture against increasing threats and ensure operational continuity even in the most complex hybrid environments.
Towards a New Standard in Enterprise Protection
The expanded collaboration between HPE and Veeam represents a strategic step toward the establishment of a global data resilience platform capable of addressing current challenges in cybersecurity, IT governance, and disaster recovery.
With joint solutions that range from bare metal servers to containers, both companies aim to drive secure digital transformation for their clients, equipping them with the necessary tools to operate confidently in an increasingly demanding technological environment.
