Hewlett Packard Enterprise Strengthens Leadership in Hybrid Cloud with New Solutions in HPE GreenLake

During the HPE Discover Barcelona 2024 event, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) presented significant advancements in its HPE GreenLake platform aimed at simplifying the management of hybrid and heterogeneous IT environments. These innovations include solutions for virtualization, high-performance object storage, and disconnected private clouds, driving agility and innovation within organizations.

Key Updates in HPE GreenLake

HPE VM Essentials: Unified Management for Virtualized Environments

HPE VM Essentials offers a streamlined experience for managing virtualized workloads in hybrid environments. This software enables the integration of existing hypervisor clusters or the adoption of the new HPE VME hypervisor, providing features such as live migration, high availability, and integrated data protection. According to HPE, this solution can reduce total cost of ownership by up to five times, offering competitive pricing options per socket.

Chris Macken, VP of IT Operations and Security at Cambrian Credit Union, highlighted: “HPE VM Essentials provides a true alternative to the status quo. With support for our current hypervisors and a flexible path for future workloads, we can modernize our operations for greater operational and resource efficiency.”

HPE Alletra Storage MP X10000: Exascale Object Storage

The new HPE Alletra Storage MP X10000 redefines performance and scalability in unstructured data storage. Designed for large data volumes, this system allows access up to six times faster compared to leading competitors. It also supports massive data recovery with deduplication of up to 20x, making it ideal for protecting critical applications.

HPE also announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to optimize direct data transfer between system memory and GPUs, enhancing performance in artificial intelligence (AI) applications.

Disconnected Private Clouds for Regulated Environments

HPE introduced disconnected management solutions for organizations that need to operate in isolated environments away from public networks. These disconnected private clouds and storage solutions enable companies to comply with local regulations and protect sensitive data. In Europe, HPE’s authorized partners will be able to offer sovereign cloud services, certifying their expertise with the “HPE Sovereignty” competency.

AI Within Reach for Businesses with HPE GreenLake

With the accelerated growth of artificial intelligence, HPE expanded its Unleash AI program with six new partners, including Codeium, Dataiku, and Securiti. These alliances will facilitate advanced use cases, including AI-driven software development, augmented generation through recovery, and intelligent video analytics.

Fidelma Russo, Executive Vice President and CTO of HPE, stated: “Today we announce the most comprehensive HPE GreenLake portfolio to date. These new solutions offer a future-ready cloud operating model compatible with virtualized, cloud-native, and AI workloads.”

Availability

  • HPE VM Essentials will be available in December 2024 and will integrate into HPE Private Cloud solutions in spring 2025.
  • HPE Alletra Storage MP X10000 will launch in December 2024, with support for NVIDIA-accelerated infrastructure in summer 2025.
  • HPE Private Cloud Enterprise Disconnected will be available in spring 2025, while disconnected storage solutions will arrive in the first half of 2025.

Toward a Hybrid and Sustainable Future

The innovations presented by HPE in GreenLake reinforce its commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency while providing scalable solutions to meet the growing demands of AI and cloud computing. These tools promise to transform the landscape of hybrid IT management and provide businesses with a cloud model tailored to the challenges of the future.
