GXO partners with Reflex Robotics to implement new warehouse automation

GXO Logistics, Inc. (NYSE: GXO), the world’s largest company dedicated exclusively to logistics contracts, has signed an agreement with Reflex Robotics, a pioneering startup in humanoid robots, to conduct a pilot test of their robotic solution before its implementation in real operations. This is GXO’s second Robots-as-a-Service (RaaS) agreement.

The Robot Reflex is an innovative solution that, after just 60 minutes of deployment, reaches its operational capacity. Over time, it learns from human actions and becomes fully autonomous. This versatile humanoid is capable of performing repetitive tasks such as container transfers and product picking, facilitating a smooth transition between different types of automation.

Adrian Stoch, Director of Automation at GXO, commented: “We are delighted to collaborate with Reflex to develop specific applications for their robot in various tasks in our warehouses. Through our ‘operational incubator’ program, we are deploying technological solutions that create value for both our customers and our team.”

GXO’s incubator program allows for the validation of practical use cases using their warehouses as real-world labs. The pilot project with Robot Reflex is being carried out in an omnichannel fulfillment operation for a Fortune 100 retailer. The ultimate goal is to deploy these robots in all GXO operations, alleviating capacity constraints and allowing employees to take on more satisfying roles.

Ritesh Ragavender, CEO of Reflex Robotics, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership: “We are excited to work with GXO, a leader in automated logistics solutions, and to accelerate our production of robots to support processes such as shelf replenishment, order picking, and quality assurance.”

This agreement reinforces GXO’s commitment to innovation and automation in the logistics sector, with the potential to transform its global operations through the integration of humanoid robots into its daily processes.
