Genetec expands high-security access control offering with new STid secure I/O module

Genetec Inc, a leading provider of integrated security, public safety, operations, and business intelligence solutions, has announced the launch of a new I/O module for its high-security access control system. This module, developed by STid, a prominent manufacturer in access control technologies, allows European customers to comply with the strictest regulations in cybersecurity.

The new I/O module is designed to integrate with Genetec and STid’s high-security access control system, which employs encrypted protocols and advanced cybersecurity features in every component, from credentials and readers to controllers and software. This integration ensures robust protection against constantly evolving cyber threats.

The combined system from Genetec and STid is ideal for government entities, high-security industries, and essential services such as oil and gas, banking, utilities, manufacturing, and healthcare. It provides secure management of access points and ensures that confidential information stays within the security perimeter.

Additionally, the compact design of the I/O module facilitates installation and enhances protection against threats by not storing sensitive data susceptible to cloning. This significantly reduces the risk of security breaches and strengthens organizations’ cybersecurity strategy.

“Our partnership with STid underscores our commitment to providing open standard, high-security access control solutions that allow organizations to choose the technology that best suits their needs,” said Thibaut Louvet, Senior Director of Product Groups, Security Center, Genetec Inc. “With this approach, our European customers and integrators can benefit from a flexible, scalable solution that complies with the strictest cybersecurity regulations.”

“We have a long history of collaboration with Genetec, driven by our shared goal of providing the best and safest experience for end users,” explained Vincent Dupart, CEO of STid. “This innovative I/O module enriches our portfolio and meets the requirements of transparent architectures. It complies with European regulations and allows our customers to adopt the most demanding security requirements without compromising customization and scalability.”

The new secure I/O module from STid, available in the fourth quarter of 2024 through accredited members of Genetec’s Channel Partner Program in Europe, will make its debut at Security Essen (September 17-20) at Genetec’s stand 8C12.
