GAIA presents “Euskadi Digital, a strategy with a future”

The Basque Cluster is organizing a meeting this Friday to present its strategic lines to make Euskadi the reference in digital transition by 2030. It is expected that Imanol Pradales, candidate for Lehendakari by the PNV, will attend the event.

The Cluster of Knowledge and Technology Industries of Euskadi (GAIA) invites to the working breakfast that will take place on Friday, March 15, at 9:00 a.m. at the BAT Building, B Accelerator Tower.

During the event, members of the GAIA cluster Board of Directors will participate, including Elena Zarraga, President of the cluster. Also present at the event will be Imanol Pradales, candidate for Lehendakari by the PNV for the elections next month.

From GAIA, its President, Elena Zarraga, states that “despite the increase in the technological market, Europe’s share of the global supply is decreasing.” The purpose of “Digital Euskadi, a strategy with a future” is to present the main lines on which the GAIA cluster is working to, in collaboration with the administrations, advance in turning Euskadi into a reference and growth pole.

From this forum, they want to share the commitment of the sector to contribute, along with the rest of the agents in the Euskadi ecosystem, in order to continue the digital transition with a European vision, based on technology serving people, a competitive and fair digital economy, and an open, democratic and sustainable digital society.

At this meeting, different leaders in the technological sector in Euskadi will explain how GAIA takes on the European challenge of digital transformation, focusing on achieving an evolution of human capital oriented to meet market needs, developing and researching new infrastructures and technologies, and facilitating the deployment of digital technologies as a factor of competitiveness-sustainability, in all socio-economic areas.

They will also acknowledge the strengths of Euskadi, including advanced technological infrastructure, innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, and public-private collaboration, which in their opinion make them the ideal ecosystem for the sector to continue developing in a leading way.

Currently, the Basque Country is a reference point in research and development in areas such as industry 4.0, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.

The meeting will conclude with a presentation by Imanol Pradales on the future strategy and opportunities in the sector at this time.
