Foxconn Expands Blackwell Production with Factories in the U.S., Mexico, and Taiwan Using NVIDIA Omniverse

Foxconn, the largest manufacturer of electronics in the world, has announced the expansion of its operations with new factories in the United States, Mexico, and Taiwan to meet the growing demand for Blackwell processors, which are already in full production. The company is utilizing the NVIDIA Omniverse platform to accelerate the integration and operation of these facilities, achieving significant advancements in efficiency and sustainability.

Technology as an Ally in Industrial Planning

Foxconn has integrated advanced tools like NVIDIA Omniverse to create digital twins of its facilities and optimize the design and layout of equipment before physical construction begins. These digital twins allow Foxconn teams to simulate, test, and adjust every aspect of their factories using leading industry applications like Siemens Teamcenter X and Autodesk Revit. This significantly reduces the risk of costly change orders and allows for greater accuracy in final operations.

One of the most notable examples is the plant in Mexico, where the use of Omniverse has enabled efficient planning of the layout of smart cameras and automation systems. According to Foxconn, this digital approach will reduce annual energy consumption by over 30%.

Autonomy and Efficiency with Intelligent Robots

Once the digital twins are created, Foxconn uses them as “virtual gyms” to train and validate the artificial intelligence models that will control its autonomous robots. Through NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Foxconn developers can test industrial manipulators and autonomous mobile robots in simulated environments before implementing them in real life.

This technology is also crucial for processes such as automated optical inspection, defect detection, and trajectory planning on assembly lines. With the help of strategically placed smart cameras, made possible by Omniverse, Foxconn plants will be equipped to ensure worker safety and optimize production.

Resilience in the Global Supply Chain

Foxconn’s ability to quickly replicate its precision production lines in different locations around the world strengthens its market position and enhances the resilience of its supply chain. This strategy allows the company to swiftly adjust its operations in response to potential disruptions and adapt to changing demand.

The Mexico plant is set to begin operations early next year, while the facilities in Taiwan will be ready in December. These factories will not only increase Foxconn’s production capacity but also establish a unified global standard for quality and sustainability.

Transforming Global Manufacturing

With the combination of NVIDIA Omniverse, artificial intelligence, and advanced automation technologies, Foxconn is leading a revolution in the manufacturing industry. This innovative approach not only optimizes internal processes but also sets a model for the future of sustainable industrial production.
