The Spanish fiber and mobile operator faces a leadership change following the dismissal of Vilda, with a provisional committee in charge of management.
The virtual mobile operator (MVNO) Finetwork has confirmed the departure of its CEO, Óscar Vilda, after 20 months at the helm of the company. The decision, which takes immediate effect, appears to stem from dissatisfaction among some members of management and shareholders regarding his performance. While a successor is being determined, the operator has appointed a transitional committee to temporarily take over the company’s strategic direction.
A provisional management committee to lead the change
The transitional committee will consist of three senior executives from Finetwork:
- Pascual Pérez, founder and chairman of the operator, who has already played a key role in the company’s initial strategy.
- Manuel Hernández, current business director, responsible for overseeing commercial operations.
- Carlos Valero, chief technology officer, who leads innovations and improvements in infrastructure and connectivity.
This team will take over decision-making until a new CEO is appointed. According to Pascual Pérez, Vilda’s departure marks the beginning of “a new stage of consolidation,” during which the operator will seek to improve its services and strengthen its relationships with customers and distributors.
A growing company, but with strategic challenges
Founded in 2015 in Elda (Alicante), Finetwork has established itself as a leading MVNO in Spain, with 100% Spanish capital and over 1.3 million customers in its portfolio. Its business model, based on offering fiber and mobile services at competitive prices, has positioned it as an important player in the telecommunications sector.
However, the dismissal of Óscar Vilda suggests a potential disagreement over the company’s strategic direction. The company has not detailed the specific reasons for his departure, but the speed of the announcement and the lack of a defined successor reflect the need for urgent adjustments in its leadership model.
A future with new challenges and opportunities
Despite the uncertainty, Pascual Pérez has emphasized that Vilda’s departure presents an opportunity to rethink Finetwork’s strategy. The operator aims to further consolidate its position in the market, focusing on improving its competitiveness and maintaining its appeal to Spanish consumers.
So far, no candidates for the CEO position have been revealed, nor the steps the management will take in the selection process. However, the company seems determined to leverage this change to drive its growth and solidify its position in a highly competitive sector.
