The technology company F5, specialized in application delivery and security solutions, has announced an expansion of its strategic collaboration with Red Hat to facilitate the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) applications in enterprise environments in a secure, flexible, and large-scale manner.
The announcement comes amid a rapid adoption of AI in the business sector. According to F5’s latest report on application strategies, 96% of organizations are already deploying AI models, up from 25% in 2023. The priorities are clear: improving application performance (72%), optimizing costs, and bolstering security (59%).
The partnership materializes through the integration of F5’s application security and delivery platform with Red Hat OpenShift AI, an open-source solution that enables the development and deployment of artificial intelligence applications in hybrid and multicloud environments.
Security, Scalability, and Observability for Real Use Cases
The new joint solutions focus on addressing three key challenges for companies looking to incorporate AI:
- RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) and large-scale model deployment: combining large language models (LLMs) with private databases, ensuring security, high response speed, and efficient GPU usage.
- Mobility of large volumes of data: thanks to integration with MinIO and F5 in OpenShift AI, the data ingestion process for training and executing models is accelerated.
- Advanced API security: using technologies like F5 Distributed Cloud WAAP and BIG-IP, models are protected against attacks such as prompt injection, model theft, or sensitive data leakage.
A Commitment to Open Source and Interoperability
Both companies emphasize the value of an open approach to the proposal. “The future of AI is open source,” says Joe Fernandes, vice president of Red Hat’s AI business unit. “Our collaboration with F5 allows companies to build and scale their AI solutions with greater confidence and without relying on a single vendor or platform.”
Meanwhile, Kunal Anand, F5’s chief innovation officer, highlights that the goal is to “simplify the path to AI adoption,” facilitating its implementation with tools designed for current environments.
The solutions resulting from this collaboration will be presented this week at the Red Hat Summit 2025, taking place from May 19 to 22 in Boston, where practical use cases in companies, such as the secure deployment of models or the execution of RAG workloads, will be showcased.
A Boost for Business AI Development
The new agreement between F5 and Red Hat reflects a clear trend in the business world: moving from exploration to action in artificial intelligence. Companies are not just looking to experiment with AI but to integrate it into their daily workflows with guarantees of performance, control, and data protection.
With this alliance, both firms aim to help more companies operationalize their AI projects, from the data center to the edge, consolidating a more sustainable and effective approach to AI-based digital transformation.
