Evolutio Maintains 98% of Its Services Active After the April 28 Outage Thanks to Its Resilience and Operational Coordination

The tech company managed to maintain the availability of its infrastructure and minimize the impact on communications after more than six hours of power outage. Collaborative efforts with partners and suppliers were key to restoring critical connectivity.

The day of April 28, 2025 will go down in history as one of the greatest operational challenges for the Spanish digital ecosystem. However, for Evolutio, the firm specialized in cloud services and digital transformation, the response was clear: none of its Data Centers experienced interruptions, and 98% of its services were operational before 8:00 AM on the same day.

The success was not coincidental. According to Jacinto Cavestany, CEO of Evolutio, the infrastructure’s performance was flawless: neither its own data centers nor those of its strategic partners — Global Switch, Equinix, Digital Realty, and Interxion — encountered any incidents.

Complexity Came with Communications

The difficulties arose in the communication node network, especially after six hours of blackout, when backup batteries for critical links began to deplete. Managing this situation required a coordinated and swift response.

“The collaboration with the lyntia team was remarkable. It took us all night, but we managed to restore 98% of the services before dawn,” highlighted Cavestany.

A Night of Effort and Total Commitment

From the Evolutio Intelligent Digital Operational Center (EIDOC), both in Spain and Portugal, technical and logistical efforts were coordinated in real-time, activating contingency plans, managing traffic priorities, and deploying personnel on the ground to restore physical links and reconfigure routes.

“I want to thank all my collaborators for their dedication. Their commitment to our clients has been exemplary in an extremely complex situation,” added the CEO.

More than Continuity: Response to the Unexpected

The case of Evolutio reflects a reality of the modern digital ecosystem: resilience does not stop at power generators, but extends to the entire digital value chain, from the data center to the last kilometer of fiber.

Having well-coordinated partners, distributed infrastructure, and an operations center with multi-node visibility allowed for the maintenance of the most critical digital services despite the prolonged power failure.

Conclusion

The blackout on April 28 tested the preparedness of many companies. Evolutio demonstrated not only that its infrastructure is up to par, but that it has an operational and technical culture capable of responding in extreme scenarios.

In the new digital paradigm, the ability to keep 98% of services active is not just a technical achievement: it is a guarantee of trust for the future.
