euNetworks Will Close Its Amsterdam Data Center Before July 2026: The Migration Race Begins

Customers have already been notified of the closure and are beginning to search for new locations for their infrastructure. i4 Networks offers immediate connectivity and discounts to ease the transition.

European network infrastructure provider euNetworks has announced the shutdown of its data center in Amsterdam, a decision that requires all of its clients to migrate their operations before July 2026. This news was confirmed by Dirk Pol, CEO of i4 Networks, through a LinkedIn post that is already generating reactions within the industry.

“Clients have been asked to move to another data center before July 2026! Expect a race to the door,” Pol stated.

This situation puts pressure on both companies and connectivity providers, as the window to migrate without disruptions is less than a year. Pol highlighted that i4 Networks can facilitate the migration thanks to its readily available network infrastructure, with MPLS connections ranging from 1 Gbit to 400 Gbit.

Opportunity for other data center operators

In light of the closure announcement, other operators with a presence in the Netherlands are positioning themselves as viable options for accommodating displaced clients. Notable companies that could benefit from this migration include:

  • Stackscale (hosting in North-C with private cloud infrastructure)
  • Greenhouse Datacenters B.V. (Patrick de Lima)
  • BIT B.V. (Walter Jansen)
  • NorthC Datacenters (Ramon Konings, Marco Hoogendijk)
  • Digital Realty (Robert Spierenburg)
  • Kolo DC – formerly known as Serverius IT infrastructure (Krishna Galvez Petersen)
  • Cellnex Datacenters (Marjolijn Rietveld)
  • Data Facilities Data Centers (Savvas Bout)
  • Leaseweb (Marwa Bouguila, Samer Nehme, MBA)

According to i4 Networks, special discounts are available for clients moving to certain selected locations. “Don’t wait too long and ask about attractive discounts when moving,” the company states.

A technical… and strategic move

Closing a data center isn’t just a physical move; it also involves operational reconfiguration. Affected companies will need to carefully plan the transition of their IT environments, ensure service continuity, and validate new interconnections.

In this context, having providers like i4 Networks, which offer direct connectivity to 59 interconnected data centers, can be a significant advantage. The company has also shared its contact channels for those interested in obtaining the updated list of available locations:

Industry outlook

Although euNetworks has not made detailed public statements about the reasons behind the closure, this decision seems part of a process of consolidation or strategic reorientation. The firm has an extensive pan-European network and may be prioritizing key hubs over less profitable locations.

In any case, this move reshapes the data center landscape in the Netherlands and activates a dynamic of competition and collaboration among operators, integrators, and cloud and telecom service providers.
