ESET has added a security layer for AI tools to its home and small-office products that scans the links and scripts returned by ChatGPT and monitors what AI agents download and run. The Slovak company announced it on October 27, 2026, alongside screenshot protection in the browser and the arrival of ESET Mobile Security on iOS, still pending Apple’s approval.
ESET’s new AI protection in 20 seconds
- ESET Home Security and Small Business Security scan links and scripts generated by ChatGPT.
- They monitor what AI agents download and run, and how they behave.
- They block unauthorized screenshots and screen recordings in the browser.
- ESET Mobile Security is coming to iOS, still pending Apple’s approval.
The new features arrive in ESET Home Security, the consumer subscription, and ESET Small Business Security, aimed at small businesses and home offices (SOHO). According to ESET’s announcement, the idea is to protect users wherever they already work with AI assistants and agents, a space where, in the words of Viktória Ivanová, the company’s VP of Consumer and IoT, cybercriminals are already exploiting it “to create more convincing scams and new attack paths.” The announcement gives no pricing or version numbers and points to ESET Home’s plans page.
What the AI security layer does
ESET groups the new features into four pieces. AI Conversation Security scans the URLs that appear in language-model responses and flags phishing, malicious or potentially unwanted links before the user clicks, and it reviews the scripts the model generates to block malicious code. For now it works with ChatGPT; Gemini and Copilot are coming “soon,” with no specific date.
AI Agent Security monitors what AI agents access and download before they run it, to stop unsafe files, scripts or suspicious external URLs, and AI Behavioral Monitoring complements that oversight by flagging unusual actions, suspicious access attempts or unexpected patterns. The company also offers AI Skills Checker, a free web tool that scans AI add-ons or skills before installation to detect risky behavior. It’s the same concern that has pushed other vendors to monitor how employees use assistants at work, as Cloud News reported when TrendAI Vision One started monitoring Claude Code and Cowork sessions.
Screenshots, iOS and web control
Browser Screen Protection blocks unauthorized screenshots, screen recording and screen sharing while browsing, a defense against infostealers and malware that captures the screen, with particular attention to banking and online shopping.
ESET Mobile Security is coming to iOS in a free and a paid version. The free version includes a link checker, a device scan that reviews settings and permissions, and a check of screen lock, notifications and update storage space. The paid version adds anti-phishing for Safari and a warning for insecure Wi-Fi networks with a trusted-network list. ESET warns that the app is still pending App Store approval and that availability may vary by region. Finally, ESET Small Business Security gains web controls so administrators can block dangerous, inappropriate or copyright-infringing content.
