Dell Technologies (NYSE: DELL) has expanded its range of PowerEdge servers, introducing the new R670 and R770 CSP Edition models, as well as the PowerEdge T160 and R260. These servers, designed to deliver significant improvements in performance and efficiency, are aimed at meeting the needs of both large and small organizations, including cloud service providers (CSP) and edge operations.
Innovations in PowerEdge Servers
The new Dell PowerEdge R670 CSP Edition and R770 CSP Edition servers are designed to deliver optimal performance in high-performance computing and high-density cloud workloads and horizontal scalability. Equipped with the Intel® Xeon® 6 Efficient Core processor, these servers promise up to 2.3 times more performance per rack compared to previous generations.
These servers also incorporate Smart Cooling technology to improve energy efficiency and thermal management, making maintenance easier in changing conditions and reducing operational costs. Additionally, the servers feature Dell Open Server Manager based on OpenBMC, simplifying management in heterogeneous environments.
Smaller Size, Higher Performance
The PowerEdge T160 and R260 models have been designed to offer compact computing capabilities, ideal for small businesses and remote offices. These servers have a reduced physical footprint compared to previous generations, making them more versatile and energy-efficient. With Intel® Xeon® E-2400 processors, both models offer double the performance compared to their predecessors, making them suitable for real-time data processing tasks and virtualization near the edge.
A Step Forward in Digital Transformation
“Our customers are turning to our new servers to run the most compute-intensive workloads while trying to manage power and emissions,” said Travis Vigil, Senior Vice President of Product Management for Dell Technologies’ Infrastructure Solutions Group. “This builds on our 30 years of experience where Dell PowerEdge has been the backbone of IT infrastructure, helping customers adapt to changing business needs and supporting workloads at the Edge, data centers, and the cloud.”
Availability and Future
The Dell PowerEdge R670 CSP Edition and R770 CSP Edition servers will be available worldwide for qualified cloud service providers in July, and will soon be available to the general public. The Dell PowerEdge T160 and R260 models will be available worldwide starting in May.
With these new additions to the PowerEdge lineup, Dell Technologies reaffirms its commitment to innovation and efficiency in IT infrastructure and data centers. The new servers not only improve performance and energy efficiency, but also simplify management and increase versatility, catering to the needs of organizations in a constantly evolving digital landscape.
