Dell Technologies has expanded its Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA with new equipment to take agentic AI from the desktop all the way to the data center: workstations with GB10 and GB300 chips, PowerEdge servers with NVIDIA Vera CPUs, an inference rack with Groq 3 LPUs, and a modular data center based on NVIDIA DSX POD. The company announced this on October 21, 2026 at GTC Berlin and says it now has more than 6,500 AI Factory customers.
The Dell and NVIDIA announcement in 30 seconds
- Dell now counts more than 6,500 AI Factory customers, up from 5,000 the previous quarter, based on its August orders.
- Dell Pro Precision workstations arrive with a 64 GB GB10, and a GB300 version is coming soon.
- The PowerEdge M9882 and R8822 use Vera CPUs, and the XE9810 uses Groq 3 LPUs for inference.
- Its modular data center with NVIDIA DSX POD arrives in early 2027, like most of the new servers.
Michael Dell, chairman and CEO, argued that AI infrastructure has stopped being an IT budget line item and has become a value-creation center, and that Dell and NVIDIA want to help enterprises bring agentic AI into production on infrastructure they control. Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, added that AI agents need a new kind of computer and that both companies are building that foundation.
From the Desktop to the Cluster
On the desktop, the Dell Pro Precision with GB10 and 64 GB of unified memory goes on sale on October 23 and can be clustered in groups of two or four systems to work with larger models. It uses the same GB10 chip as the NVIDIA DGX Spark. Above it, the Dell Pro Precision with GB300 will offer up to 748 GB of coherent memory and 20 petaflops of FP4 compute with Windows, though Dell only says it’s coming soon.
Dell is also publishing its Deskside Agentic AI Solutions for NVIDIA on GitHub, validated reference designs that spell out hardware, models, and software for use cases like agentic coding, video analysis, NVIDIA NemoClaw, or a university AI lab, built to scale from a single developer to more than 1,000 machines.
Servers With Vera CPUs, Groq, and DSX POD
In the data center, the PowerEdge M9882 packs 256 NVIDIA Vera CPUs into a 48U rack for agentic workloads like orchestration and code execution, kept separate from GPU clusters, and arrives in the first quarter of 2027. The PowerEdge R8822, a dual-socket, air-cooled server with a Vera CPU built for standard 19-inch racks, supports up to four double-width GPUs and is available this month. As Dell previously brought NVIDIA Vera CPUs to PowerEdge to scale enterprise AI agenticity, this expands that lineup further.
For rack-scale inference, the PowerEdge XE9810 combines 16 direct liquid-cooled compute trays with Groq 3 LPUs, expected in the first quarter of 2027. The Dell Modular Data Center with NVIDIA DSX POD packs compute, storage, networking, power, and liquid cooling into a container ready to connect to a prepared site, arriving in early 2027. Dell will also bring NVIDIA Aerial RAN Computer (ARC) to PowerEdge so operators can run radio access network and AI on the same hardware, part of the broader push around NVIDIA and Nokia’s AI-RAN for operator networks.
Software, Security, and Services
On the software side, Dell is validating Reflection’s open Beam model, licensed under Apache 2.0 and built for software engineering and long agentic tasks, and expanding its ecosystem program with Mistral (already available), Dynatrace and Fogsphere (fourth quarter of 2026), and SUSE Linux (early 2027). Its security architecture combines hardware-level protection, the NVIDIA OpenShell architecture for governing agents at runtime, and Red Hat AI Factory software. Dell Managed Services for AI, for controlling usage, access, and costs, arrives in the first quarter of 2027.
The announcement includes both third-party and Dell’s own figures, including a claim that its AI factory can be up to 90% cheaper than the public cloud over two years, based on a study by Signal65 and Futurum Group. Dell itself cautions that results may vary.
