Madrid is hosting a new edition of CISO Day, a congress that brings together experts and professionals around the figure of the Chief Information Security Officer and cybersecurity in organizations. This will be the sixth edition of an event that has become a benchmark in the world of cybersecurity in Spain.
Since the first edition back in 2019, more than 200 speakers from leading companies in Spain and over 50 sponsors have been present at CISO Day, which will take place in a face-to-face format, promoting and betting on quality networking.
This edition will address the different challenges faced by cybersecurity leaders and the key factors to consider to protect companies: resilience, awareness, training, among others. During the event, the challenge posed by the emergence of AI, its influence on automated attacks, and its corresponding use to stop cyberattacks will also be discussed. Additionally, attendees will learn and understand details of new cybersecurity regulations such as DORA and NIS2, as well as the steps to take to implement Strategic Cybersecurity Awareness.
The event features a multidisciplinary agenda with individual keynotes, roundtable discussions, and practical cases. It will start at 3:45 pm and after a mid-afternoon coffee break, it will conclude with an after-work networking session around 8:00 pm.
### The Future of Digital Security and Cybercrime Trends
Carlos Seisdedos, one of the leading cybersecurity professionals in Spain, will open the event with a talk titled “Cyberintelligence: The Future of Digital Security”. In his presentation, Carlos will explore the importance of cyberintelligence in the evolution of digital security, highlighting the use of advanced techniques such as Virtual HUMINT (Human Intelligence), rediscovering how these techniques allow for proactive prevention against increasingly sophisticated threats, transforming the way organizations approach cybersecurity.
Following him, Vicente Gea, Awareness Consultant at SoSafe, will discuss the main trends in cybercrime to watch out for in 2024 so that the security team can anticipate the latest threats and protect the organization from attacks. He will also explore the growing role of AI in cyberattacks and how it is changing the rules of the game for everyone.
### Resilience and Awareness, Keys to Protecting Companies
The first roundtable discussion will focus on the importance of companies’ awareness to protect themselves against cyberattacks and the resilience as an indispensable value in the face of incidents. Diego Rodríguez, Senior Cyber Underwriter Iberia at AXA XL, Pablo F. Iglesias, Hacker & Founder of CyberBrainers, and Ana Gómez Blanco, Cybersecurity Senior Manager at BBVA, will participate.
Jesus Martín, CEO and co-founder of Xygeni Security, will talk about “Early Detection of Malicious OS Packages,” while Antonio Matarranz, Account Executive at Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, will discuss “Cyber Resilience as the Key Component of Your Digital Security.” Perfect prevention is a lost battle. Sooner or later, companies will find themselves in a situation where they must make vital decisions based on imperfect information under maximum pressure. In this context, Antonio will explain the processes and tools that allow for a quick response and effective recovery.
### Hacks, Clonings, and Other Scams on Online Stores
One of the sectors most affected in the digital world by cyberattacks is commerce. Countless stores are affected by clonings, hacks, or duplicates of their platforms that impact their accounts and reputation. Inaki Mendarrozkieta, eCommerce Manager at Ternua Group, and David Cuesta, Director of AMDSEO Digital Marketing Agency, who have experienced and dealt with such experiences, will share real cases and how they addressed them.
### The Challenge of AI and Automated Attacks: How to Leverage It to Stop Them
The last roundtable discussion will focus on artificial intelligence, that tool that seems to change everything, and that has cybercriminals trying to exploit it. Alberto Sanglier Contreras, CISO of the National Heritage, Justo Hernández Ortega, Solutions Engineer at Telesign, Mikel Rufián, Global CISO of the Business Group and Global Vice President of the International Cybersecurity Association (ASICI), and Damian Ruiz Soriano, CISO of Singular Bank and president of CyberMadrid, will discuss how to leverage AI to try to stop cybercriminals.
