CGI Strengthens Its Presence in Europe with the Acquisition of Novatec

The multinational CGI, one of the largest independent IT and business consulting firms in the world, has announced the completion of its acquisition of the company Novatec through its subsidiary CGI Deutschland B.V. & Co. KG.

Founded in 1996, Novatec is a prominent company in digital services, with a presence in Germany and Spain. Its offerings range from business and technology consulting to software development, cloud-based solutions, agile products, and digital transformation strategies. Additionally, its application performance management solutions will strengthen CGI’s intellectual property portfolio, driving digital innovation among its clients through the use of advanced technologies like artificial intelligence.

“CGI and Novatec share a corporate culture focused on intrapreneurship, innovation, and a strong results-oriented responsibility,” highlighted Ralf Bauer, President of CGI in Germany. “The addition of Novatec’s experts, with their focus on solving complex problems, will enable us to generate greater value for our clients in key sectors such as automotive, manufacturing, and financial services, turning digital innovation into tangible business value.”

For his part, Alberto Anaya, Senior Vice President and Business Unit Leader of CGI in Spain, emphasized: “The experience that Novatec brings complements CGI’s local and global capabilities, enhancing our technological expertise and sector knowledge through new offerings for our clients.”

The transaction involves the integration of more than 300 technology and consulting experts from Novatec, who will join the CGI team from eight offices in Germany—strongly present in the metropolitan region of Stuttgart and the southwest of the country—along with its headquarters in Granada, Spain.

With this acquisition, CGI consolidates its positioning in Europe and advances its goal of providing comprehensive solutions that support organizations in their digital transformation processes, thanks to a local relationship model backed by a global delivery network.
