Cato Networks integrates with Azure vWAN to simplify connectivity in hybrid and multicloud environments

Cato Networks, a leading provider of SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) solutions, has announced a new integration with Microsoft Azure Virtual WAN (vWAN), expanding its Cato SASE Cloud platform coverage to Azure’s native network. This collaboration aims to streamline hybrid and multi-cloud deployments for organizations operating complex environments across multiple regions, subscriptions, and virtual networks (VNets) within the Azure ecosystem.

The integration is designed to ease the burden on IT teams by eliminating complex manual configurations, enabling secure, seamless connectivity that allows businesses to focus on strategic objectives.

“With this integration, companies not only gain secure connectivity but also peace of mind,” said Brian Anderson, Global CTO of Cato Networks. “It removes operational complexity and allows IT teams to concentrate on innovation.”

A key step for distributed architectures

The growth of multi-cloud architectures has highlighted the challenges involved in managing connectivity and security across disparate environments. The partnership between Cato and Azure vWAN aims to unify this landscape with a global, efficient, and secure network solution, aligned with current digital transformation demands.

Main features of this integration include:

– Connecting Azure with other environments: Businesses can easily interconnect their Azure deployments with data centers, physical sites, and other public clouds.
– Managing multiple Azure subscriptions: The integration helps reduce costs and optimize traffic between VNets across different subscriptions via the Azure vWAN hub.
– Advanced traffic security: Threat prevention features from Cato and its Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solution strengthen protection for inbound and outbound Azure traffic.
– Zero Trust-based secure access: Using Cato FWaaS (Firewall as a Service) and Universal ZTNA (Zero Trust Network Access), organizations can control user access based on contextual security policies.

Microsoft’s Narayan Annamalai, Vice President of Networking Products at Azure, emphasized:

“This integration allows our customers to simplify their network infrastructure while leveraging Azure’s full potential in their digital transformation initiatives.”

Global availability

The integration with Microsoft Azure vWAN is now accessible to clients worldwide. Additionally, Cato has made technical documentation and resources available through its knowledge base and the official Terraform registry to facilitate automated deployment of these capabilities.
