The Board of Communities of Castilla-La Mancha has been awarded the XVII ASLAN Awards in the category of Artificial Intelligence in Public Administration, thanks to its pilot project ‘JCCM Drives Innovation in Environmental Management’.
This recognition highlights the regional government’s commitment to modernizing public management and investing in sustainability by leveraging the latest technologies. The initiative, developed by the Digital Transformation Agency of Castilla-La Mancha, has involved collaboration with major multinational tech companies such as Red Hat, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, NTT Data, and Grupo Aire.
It is worth noting that Grupo Aire includes specialized companies like Stackscale, a leader in cloud infrastructure, private cloud, bare-metal, and artificial intelligence, providing expert knowledge and technological capability to the project.
The General Director of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, Juan Pedro de Ruz, and the General Director of Digital Health, Cayetano Fuentes, were responsible for accepting the award, emphasizing the administration’s efforts to bring innovative solutions to the public.
The main objective of this pilot project is to improve public service by creating an AI-based intelligent assistant that optimizes response times in the evaluation of environmental impact reports. With this tool, public employees will be able to expedite the processing of files, while citizens will benefit from more agile and effective management.
In addition to validating Red Hat’s technological platform, the project aims to lay the groundwork for a long-term strategy that allows for ongoing transformation of administrative processes related to sustainability and the environment.
The ASLAN Awards annually recognize the work of administrations and professionals who promote digitalization and technological innovation projects. They also encourage the sharing of knowledge among technology leaders in public administrations and leading companies in the sector.
With this distinction, Castilla-La Mancha consolidates its position as a national reference in the adoption of advanced technologies in the public sector, thanks to a strategy that combines innovation, public-private collaboration, and commitment to sustainability.
